This review is from: LIAN LI PC-9F Black Aluminum ATX Mid Tower Computer Case
Pros:
The case just looks great. I hate to use the word sexy..but it is.
Plenty of room to work.
Optional 140mm fan on top.
Case is very light but feels very solid and sturdy when everything is installed and assembled.
Very easy to dismantle case (i.e. side and front panels, HD cage).
Bottom PSU mount.
Tool-less HD cage works well.
Easy to change/clean the included air filters.
Lian Li makes a lot of accessories. See other thoughts.
Cons:
Passthru's for cabling could use some rubber grommets to protect the cabling.
Power, reset, HD light wiring was a little short (I just had enough length).
Air filters do not have a tight fit because of the fan mounting screws.
Reverse mounting the HD's might be a challenge.
USB 3.0 cables are pretty long and bulky. I won't be using them yet so I was able to tuck them into the 5.25" drive bay.
Overall Review:
This is my second Lian Li case. My first one was the PC-7FNW. I loved that case too but I grew tired of staring at all the unused 5.25 bay slots and I also desired more HD mounts so I moved everything into this case. Consequently the transparent side panel from 7FNW fit the PC-9F. This is also part # W-LM2AB-1 if you want to add the side window. I have also added the following Lian-Li accessories:
-HD-321 Internal 2.5" HDD / SSD Mounting Kit (fits perfect)
-W-LM2AB-1 side window (pulled of my old Lian Li case)
-C-02B black 5.25 drive bay bezel ( IMO a must have to cover the DVD drive faceplate with matching Lian LI black aluminum)
-BZ-U02B I/O panel. This fits into 1 5.25 slot and gives me front panel USB2.0 x 4, IEEE1394 x 1, E-SATA x 1, HD+AC97 Audio. It perfectly matches the rest of the case and also has door to keep out dust.
