This review is from: HAWKING HOWABN1 Hi-Gain Outdoor Wireless-300N Multifunction Access Point
Pros:
One Ethernet wire for power and communication. Good hardware design, easy to attach antenna’s and mount to pole. Purchased one and set it up in universal repeater mode. Unit is located about 115 feet from router in house and is repeating signal to IP camera about 200 feet away. So far no problems, unit is sitting outside on a temporary pole sitting in two cement blocks.
Cons:
POE injector has a cheap look and feel to it. Power on indicator works, there are two other indicators but they don't seem to do anything. This is not a negative but I had to find something I didn't like about the unit.
Overall Review:
Going to purchase a second unit to attach to IP camera to improve network response. Wireless signal from camera to HOWABN1 is weak. Issue is with the camera not the HOWABN1. Tested by attaching a WRT54g set up as a bridge to camera and network response was much better.
