This review is from: Cuisinart CPK-17 Silver PerfecTemp cordless electric kettle with 1-2/3-liter capacity and concealed heating element, 1500 Watt/110 Volts stainless-steel
Pros:
This is an expensive tea kettle, but sometimes you get what you pay for. First of all, it's 1500 watts, which is about as high as it can be with 115V-120V electric service, so it's fast. But more important, it has several sub-boiling settings for different kinds of tea that result in a much better tasting cup of tea than you'd get using boiling water. By default, it goes into "keep warm" mode when you put the kettle back on the base, then shuts off after 20 minutes. Of course, if you know you never have more than one cup, you can turn it off when you put the kettle back on the base.
OK, I admit I like the cool blue LEDs too. But the key advantages are that it heats water quickly and the choice of several different temperatures (including boiling if that's what you want)
Cons:
I didn't find the instructions intuitive. For instance, you have to hit "start" after selecting a temperature. Once I got past that, though, it does default to "keep warm" after you pour and then it shuts off automatically. I wouldn't mind if the "Keep warm" button was a little larger, but that's a very minor complaint. It's worth the standard Newegg price, but it's certainly pricey.
Overall Review:
I love a good bargain and I hate paying for just a brand name. This isn't just "a Cuisinart", it's worth the money.
