This review is from: NETGEAR AC1750 Dual Band WiFi Gigabit Router R6300-NAS
Pros:
Superfast speeds. However, you need to know what you're doing to get them. Some obvious points - you can't get the 900 mbs or so that I"m getting unless you have either bridge (another one of these routers) or an adaper on your computer that is able to get Wireless AC speeds. I'm not sure why that isn't clear to everyone, but i know that is why there are some bad reviews. The latest review, for example, says he's only getting 200 mbs. That's because he's using the 2.4Ghz channel and probably doesn't have the proper adapter. With the ASUS AC66 adapter (which is sold out, everywhere) i'm getting a consistent 750mbs in my GARAGE. These new routers are amazing. My apple TV works flawlessly streaming 24GB movies, WIRELESSLY, with only about 30 seconds of load time. That's why I got it, and i've been very happy.
Cons:
About the only issue I've had (twice) is that the firmware can get corrupted (netgear says especially when it is loaded wirelessly). When this happens (you'll know by a blinking power light) you have to call them and have them guide you through a manual firmware load. I've had to do it twice now, and i think i can actually do it on my own, if I had to again.
Overall Review:
Great router, Netgear has been great (despite every tech having thick accents!).
