Link Light Blinks Endlessly

Pros:
Good download speeds - On my 3 Mbs DSL connection, I was getting 305 KBs max. downloads using a DSL modem, and with this cable modem on a 3 Mbs cable connection I am getting 355 KBs max. downloads.
Cons:
The link light on the modem blinks endlessly and the modem sends packets endlessly to whatever it is connected - router or computer. These are not packets coming from the WAN, they are generated by the modem internally.
Overall Review:
You can do an internet search for: "sb6121 link light blinking" (without the quotation marks) and see many complaints about this. Why Motorola does not issue a firmware fix for this problem is beyond me.
