This review is from: NETGEAR WNDR4000 N750 Wireless Dual Band Gigabit Open Source Router - IEEE 802.11 a/b/g/n
Pros:
Great product while it lasted.
Cons:
It didn't last.
Overall Review:
I've got to say that I've never been so disappointed in a customer service department as I am today.
I have a few month old (8 or 9) WNDR400. Went to work one morning and it was working; came home from work and it was dead. The router was plugged in to a UPS so it certainly wasn't a power surge. It was just dead. No lights... nothing. I checked voltages with my multimeter on the power brick, 0V. Tried the powerbrick from another netgear router (same voltage and current outputs), no go. So the router's shot too.
Customer service only had one thing to say. "Where's your receipt?" Unfortunately, the one time I did't remember to keep the receipt, is the time I need it. Sadly I don't remember where I bought it from, the exact date, or which of my credit cards (if it wasn't cash). Their only suggestion was to spend hours of my time searching. I even had the call escalated to higher supervisors twice to no avail.
In conclusion, even if you do remember to keep receipts, I'd suggest avoiding netgear all together. Unless, that is you enjoy burning money and wasting time on terrible, obstinate customer service.
