Multi - Monitor Beware 09/10/2013
This review is from: XFX Radeon HD 7750 1GB DDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 CrossFireX Support Video Card FX775AZNJ4
Pros:
Fast cool quiet card really good installation.
Great upgrade for those with the older 4800 series cards. But SEE the Cons.
Cons:
Multi-monitor support is an enigma.
Here is the solution to the riddle.
It has 3 types of connectors in the back.
1.Standard VGA.
2. DVI-A/DVI-D (who knows which?)
3. HDMI.
You can run up to three monitors but you MUST have a cable native N-A-T-I-V-E to each one. Adapting a VGA to a DVI will NOT work and make you cry.
For example if you want to run 2 monitors. You can run one off your VGA port with a VGA cable. For the second monitor you have to use DVI cable and DVI port. No Adapter will circumvent this annoying technical requirement which is not listed anywhere in the technical details of the product.
Manufacturer Response:
Hello, We're sorry you are having trouble setting up a 3rd monitor. Unfortunately, this informationyou posted is not correct, please disregard the technical aspect of this review. Three monitor technology was designed with the idea of having native display ports and Mini displayports. If you do not have this level of technology and are still using VGA/HDMI/DVI only, then you will have to get an ACTIVE DVI-Displayport Adapter that is Eyefinity approved (3 monitor+). You can also use a VGA to Displayport adapter instead of the DVI-DP adapter. HDMI-DP adapters do not work as the functional eyefinity 3rd monitor, but do work as a 1st-2nd monitor. Please contact us for further details or any questions you may have regarding this setup. neweggsupport@xfxforce.com
You can use any types of adapters for any types of monitors you wish, but the rule is one of them must be displayport native or an active displayport adapter (VGA or DVI). Thank you
