Pros:

This hard drive is very fast for a HDD drive. The speeds I am getting out of it are very good. I am going to give you times for Gigs not just the read write speeds so you can really see a time line to compare it. I was using my WD Green Label 500 Gig as my control subject seeing is how most people are using them as their big data storage.
Test one was 55.6 Gigs of Pictures placed on my G.Skill Phoenix III FM-25S3 SSD "you can get that drive here at Newegg" to the WD 4TB Black Series drive
Time for total transfer was 13'27
Test two 55.6 Gigs of Pictures placed on my G.Skill Phoenix III FM-25S3 SSD to my WD AV-GP Green Label 2TB "you can get that drive here at Newegg"
Time for total transfer was 17'19
That is a 3 min and 52 second difference for the same file transfer.
I was taken back a little about how big of a difference there really was I mean you can sit and read all the reviews that give read write time and then do the math or you can just look here and see the real life transfer speeds that I was getting on my system "I will give all the specs on my system in the other thoughts section".
Sound: the drive did not make much sound at all, in fact, I was hard pressed to pick out the drive sound over the case fan I hate noise so I went with as quiet fans as I could. Foot print is no larger than any other drive in my case. Overall I am very happy with this drive, it does not deliver the speed of an SSD but look at the cost of this 4TB drive and the cost of an SSD at 1TB and it cost $539.99 I am going to get the 4TB drive and still save money.

Cons:

Price is high for an HDD.

Overall Review:

First thing I want to point out is that you need to make sure that when you format the drive for its first use you don't use the MBR "Master Boot Record" option. I know that many of my fellow EggXpert's already know this and will scoff at me for saying this out loud but if you do use the MBR option you will lose half of your drive space. Just think for all the users out there that I just saved you a huge headrace. My overall opinion of the drive is very good. I have been using it heavily now and have had no hiccups. If you're looking for good overall fast data storage unit you can't go wrong with this unit. Fast, quiet and reliable. If you're going to use this as your OS drive just break it so that you have more than one partition so you can do a full data recovery if your OS goes down.
