Bought for VMWare 02/02/2014
This review is from: SYBA 2 Port Gigabit Ethernet PCI-e x1 Network Card - SY-PEX24028
Pros:
None as of yet for me. If I was using it in a non VMWare environment or in an older version ESXi it should work fine.
Cons:
Not VMWare compatible after ESXi 5.5. It was depreciated. So if you're looking for VMWare compatibility for 5.5, don't get this card.
Overall Review:
I had recently built a new PC and bought this card for my old hardware in hopes of turning it into a VM box. The Onboard LAN of my motherboard wasn't supported by VMWare, so I got this. To my surprise VMWare recognized my onboard fine, but not this card.
Manufacturer Response:
Dear Customer,
Please note that this is due to the chipset limitation.
RTL8111E does not support a VMware environment and there are still troubleshooting options for an ESXi environment.
