I have two of these HDD's. One I bought several years ago and the contacts ripped off of it. There was no rough handling, they literally just ripped off. This new HDD I bought to build a computer for a friend. After setting everything up and powering it on, the HDD made a grinding and squealing noise. The computer did not recognize the drive at all. Have the RMA processed and awaiting a refund.
I've always been told that Seagate was better than WD. I've always found WD to be slightly better, but this completely changed my mind this time. Switching to WD permanently. Going to send the DOA HDD back in the new WD HDD box that I will be buying from Best Buy!
