Windows 7 SP1 updates hang

Pros:
Basic Windows 7 with SP1 installs cleanly.
Cons:
Windows stuck trying to add updates. Tried both Windows 7 Home Premium and Windows 7 Professional. Both hang up searching for updates. I think I had this same problem some months ago on my Gigabyte GA-Z170N mobo as well.
Overall Review:
This is not an isolated problem. Search the web for "Windows 7 update stuck" and you will find many instances reported. Had to return the motherboard for a refund.
