5 out of 5 eggs NEW OEM License Restriction 05/26/2006

This review is from: Microsoft Windows XP Professional With SP2

Pros:

Many folks are complaining about the new hardware restriction but according to MS, if we are the OEM, we choose what constitutes a defective Motherboard Replacement. In otherwords, it can still be transfered to a new system as long as you follow the removal rules because "We Are" the OEM builder.

Cons:

May need clarification in Courts as to whether the hardware restriction is legal.

Overall Review:

I'm glad this matter was brought to my attention as it means I've had to investigate things. I no longer have issues with buying the OEM version as it can be transfered to a new motherboard at my Discretion since I'm the OEM Builder. Very nice.
