one review stated it does not have an HDMI connections. The specs states DVI, VGA & HDMI. What input connectors are on this monitor?

Yes, Mine has all 3. Also the main selling point on this monitor was the ability to remove the stand. I have a stand with 2 monitors on it.

Does this monitor have built in speakers?

No. However, I've never used built in speakers on anything but a flat screen TV because they really aren't very good. Use a real speaker system of some kind.
