Does it have built in speakers? If so, how many watts per speaker?

My friend, the description of the monitor itself points out that it has two, 4 watt speakers. It's like you purposely avoided reading the description of the monitor, and instead, thought, I should just ask. Please, for your own sake, research first before you ask others questions. It saves you time and others headache.

Restating an unanswered question. Do the side pieces come off? They appear to be intrusive in a multi-monitor setup.

The "side pieces" aren't on the monitor and are accessories that help keep glare from lights hitting your screen and it is optional to use and are available in the box with the monitor. The picture you see is what it looks likes put together the "side pieces" and the "top piece" is detached are placed separately in the box with the monitor.
