Does this haVE A sound card?

Yes, I assume so since I can play and hear music on it and hear radio programs on the internet and internet ad music.  The problem I have is this has GOOGLE OS which means you can't DL and install the usual programs with .exe like zonealarm firewall, torrent applications, paint programs, excel, word, wordperfect, open office, etc.  Also, now my screen has heavy cracks because the monitor is very weak if you just lean on it while sleeping near it.  You can't use the Google spreadsheet and other apps unless you're connected to the internet.  I can really only use their word processing programs if I'm at home and not connected to the internet.   Also, you can't connect to your old printer.  I still don't know how to print from here  free of charge unless I print at the library.    I like more freedom and will not buy this kind of computer again.  I'd rather buy a MS Office computer which will allow me to DL and install various favorite programs and allow me to connect to my printer at home.

Yes but I have only used it for video on google hangouts.  I don't know how or if it works for stills.

Technically, no. It does not come with, and you cannot install any typical PC applications on it. Which means you can't install Office.

However, it does come with the Google Docs application on it. You can create, view, and edit presentations (Powerpoint), Documents (Word), and Spreadsheets (Excel). You can save to the hard drive of the laptop, or to a Google account where it will be accessible from any computer you can get the internet on.

Google Docs is a powerful suite, but it is not Office. I would advise giving it a try online, for free, from Google first.

And finally, remember that this is simply a web laptop. It is made for using the internet browser, with stuff like Youtube and Facebook. While it can run productivity software like Google Docs, it's primary design is to be an internet machine.

can this run games like minecraft/ tererai, ftl civilisation?

I don't use the computer for gaming so I'm not certain but my best answer is if the games operate thru a browser, then yes, but if you have to download them directly, I doubt it.  Only Google programs are supported.  For example, you can not use Skype, only Google Hangouts.  I hope that helps.

wi fi is the only internet which can be used in this accer ????

You can connect the C7 to your router with a network cable. when you connect the cable the wifi is automatically turn off. I like this C7 much better than the Samsung model. bigger HDD, 4gigs ram.
The samsung model does not have a Ethernet connection, and only can connect via wifi.

Nope. The bootloader is entirely different from native Windows bootloader, so as of now, there is absolutely no way to install Windows in this chromebook (or any other chromebook). On the other hand, you can install Ubuntu linux simultaneously along with ChromeOS.

It is a fast, sleek and tiny OS, and I love using it. The only downside I faced till date was its inability to connect with traditional printers.

Does this laptop have a dvd player?

No, it does not, and it doesn't have a cd player either. Everything I've read so far says you can't use an external one either. I am unaware if there is a way to connect to a dvd player through the cloud, which is how they got around not being able to connect directly to a printer. One source said you could download a dvd to a windows computer then connect with your network and download it to the chromebook.

Can I run the wifi with my home wifi from ATT U-verse?

You should be able to use this device with any WIFI.  We have a different service called WOW! and it works great.  As long as you have an open WIFI to connect to, you will be good to go.

My wife and I share this device since we can toggle easily between our Google accounts.  The only knock I have on this device is the battery life.  Since it's a 4 cell battery, it's good for a few hours.  I think some of the other Chromebooks might be a little better, somewhere between 4-6 hours, but you can always buy a bigger battery.

The 320GB of hard drive space is nicer than the 16GB SSD space of other units.

Overall, you can't beat the price and portability.  Good luck.

Can I download a linux or windows operating system and remove the google chrome os?

Yes, you can dual-boot to linux and Chrome.  I've done it.  Here are the notes I took when setting it up.

After first trying Crouton as a "swap" between Chrome and Ubuntu and finding it very limited I decided to go to a dual-boot following the instructions in this link (search for ChrUbuntu: One Script to Rule Them All) .  It worked very well after one aborted try.  What I learned along the way for my Chromebook is as follows:

Ctrl-D  - the shortcut to say want to stay in developer mode when booting
ctrl-alt- ->(F2) - To go into linux Chronos shell so can perform operations (chronos has no password)
Esc-F3-Power - what allows you to set up developer mode

To Change which system boot into must use shell to set it up to boot that way.  These are delicate so be careful

Boot to Ubuntu
sudo cgpt add -i 6 -P 5 -S 1 /dev/sda

Boot to Chrome
sudo cgpt add -i 6 -P 0 -S 1 /dev/sda

Steps are as follows

When Chrome is the default

* At user login ctrl-alt- ->(F2)  to get to Chronos Shell
	* Chronos - to login as chronos
	* sudo cgpt add -i 6 -P 5 -S 1 /dev/sda
	* Shut down
	* Restart - Ctrl-D
	* Will go into Ubuntu

When Ubuntu is the default

* Start a terminal - use dashboard and search for terminal - the leftmost one is too little to read
	* sudo cgpt add -i 6 -P 0 -S 1 /dev/sda
	* Shut down
	* Restart - Ctrl-D
	* Will go into Chrome
