Does this have a CD/DVD player? I can't seem to find it

No it does not have a cd/dvd player, but I have yet find a need for one. You will find that not having a cd/dvd player is becoming quite popular because we are using more flash and cloud memory. Everything you get on a disk you can just download. Not having that drive makes the laptop thinner, lighter, and saves energy. If you really need one you can get an external one for about $30-$50 .

Hey, this question is for people who game on this thing. Can this PC handle game a like garrys mod, team fortress 2 and portal 2?

First off, do yourself a favor and update the drivers immediately.  The drivers included did a horrible job of choosing the Nvidia adapter for games.

Secondly, at this laptop's native resolution you shouldn't have problems running most games at at least mid to mid-high settings.  My son is currently playing Just Cause 2 at mid to high settings with 2x AA and it is smooth, aside from the opening cut scene anyway.  League of Legends runs at 60 FPS with max settings.  Lord of the Rings Online runs well at very high settings.

This is not a 'serious' gaming laptop but neither is the price.  My kids each got one for Christmas because someone finally made a decent gaming laptop for $500.  We couldn't be happier at the moment.

This laptop does not have a CD or DVD player.  It's thinner and lighter as a result. You can get an external one for $15-$25 if you really need one.

Question 4

I read on the specs that there is 4gb onboard plus 2gb memory on this model. Is it possible to add more memory without taking out the 2gb simm?

Also, what speed is the memory?

It is not possible to upgrade the memory and retain the stock 2gb stick unfortunately. However the 2GB stick may be replaced with any DDR3 stick up to 8gb, for a total of 12gb possible.
As for the speed of the ram, I could not find it specified, however a program called cpu-z tells me that is is PC3-12800, which is 1600Mhz. I hope that helps.

Hard drive and Memory are pretty much the only things that are easily upgraded.

There are several how-to guides on the internet that run you through it step by step and make it pretty simple.

Keep in mind this system will only support a max of 12GB of memory.

I'm a Gamer and I looking for a cheap gamin laptop. Can this laptop run battlefield 4 and minecraft? Please replie it's appreciated.

Before I start, I am in no way a computer guru.  I usually play games but I'm overseas right now and rarely have the time. But, I bought this laptop for a couple reasons. Whenever I do feel like playing games, I wanted the specs to be able to handle the game, unlike previous ones that I bought. Core I5, 6 gb memory,  and nvidia GeForce 720m. Definitely can handle minecraft, bf4 might be a little iffy. The price isn't bad at all. Even though it's 15.6 (which is a lot bigger than I thought) it's really easy to carry around. So far I absolutely love the thing, backlit keyboard would've been nice though.  Hope this helps you decide

Does it included OS Recovery Media?

No.  It has a utility to create recovery media but you have to do it before the system reaches an irrecoverable state.  When mine arrived, it would not boot all the way into the OS.  I called customer service who told me that I could purchase recovery media - a DVD or a USB drive (prices omitted because of note below this text box but not only do I think it's absurd that you would have to purchase anything, the price is quite unreasonable).  This was quite unexpected as I don't expect to have to purchase anything to fix a product which is DOA.  However, I was able to use a WIN8 disc to perform a recovery and haven't had much of a problem since.  BTW:  the system is fairly quick and reliably but I later purchased a Samsung SSD and, after running the utility which puts your OS on the replacement SSD - a rather smooth tranisition - the system is remarkably swifter.

It is not a touch screen laptop. It has a multi-touch track pad with left and right clicks on the bottom of the track pad.
