Hi is the 950m on the vn7-571g-59ne ddr3 or ddr5 ram? i see conflicting reports all over the web. acer's website does not specify either.

The general consensus is that the acer mobile GPU's most often use GDDR3 RAM. It wont really effect it to much, as the 950 is a low to mid tier card, and shouldnt be bottlenecked by the slower RAM.

What's the battery life like? What RPM speed is the HDD? Can I put an SSD in it if I'm not happy with the HDD?

5400 RPM HDD. Battery life will be short since it's 3 cells. not quite sure about the SSD, but i think you can replace the HDD with SSD.
