No it has not DVD Drive. I called to Customer support and they saying: it even has not option to add one, so use external one.

It comes with windows 8.1 64bit and is eligible for a free windows 10 upgrade for a limited time online via the built in windows updates. You will be prompted to about the update availability and reservation in your system try near the time (lower right corner of the screen) once you apply for the update you will be prompted when it's ready for install.

If this laptop does not have an optical reader how do you load the software that comes with it?

All of the bonus software is cloud based or pre-loaded. You download the rest from the web. Most of the bonus software isn't all that great anyway.

The chipset and processor is pretty good for general computing. The only upgrade I would look at is upping the memory to 8GB and maybe a little faster type. The touch screen is excellent, although I would keep a few screen wipes on had when using it.

There is a hidden partition on the hard drive that functions as a factory restore if you need it for any reason. I would still keep either a google drive copy or usb drive of the current drivers too.

And as always with a new machine, download the latest drivers as soon as you get it and install them.

Don't know for sure and now way to weigh it, but it isn,t bad, have had three other laptops and this is the lightest of all.  Great computer you will like it.

no it does not come with an optical drive. But, you can purchase either an external optical usb drive or you can purchase the optical drive that will go into the laptop. Just search for a slim optical drive.

No, it comes with Windows 8.1 and has touch screen. This model works for 2-3 weeks and needs to reload BIOS or send to Temple,TX after talking to Customer Support !!!

HDD has 5400 RPM, as in many laptops to reduce heat and it makes it little slow.

No it has not DVD at all and you can use external DVD on USB3, it will be fast as SATA !!!
