Is the 32 GB SSD replaceable-upgradable?

No, and I though buying and adding a 64 GB SD card would easily expand the available storage space, but I have yet to find a way to make it do that.  We are continually getting a drive almost full warning.  If you can afford it, go with the higher capacity SSD.  Besides that we love it and use it everyday.

on this and many other websites it says "Attach it to the keyboard and enjoy an additional 500GB of storage as well as a smooth typing and efficient productivity experience." down the Delightfully Productive section. Does it really have 500 Gigs additional storage that is only mentioned once in the description?

No.   There is only 24G (?) of storage, and we have an additional 8G SD card in it.

The box we have does not seem to have any storage in the keyboard portion.   It does have a regular USB port, so that if you had a 500G external drive on the keyboard, and detach it, you would lose the 500G drive.  The 24G of storage is on the display, as is the battery.

It's a nice box.   My kid loves it for school.  Too slow for me.

Yes you get one years subscription of MS Office. They also give you a Product Key for activation use.
