Is the hard drive 5400rpm or 7200rpm? Can I add SSD to this system configuration?

Stock HDD is a 1TB 5400RPM Drive.  An SSD can be added but you must verify if it is an msata or slim 2.5" SSD.

Not sure what different photos you are referring to (publication), but the laptop shown in the Newegg product page is the laptop that arrived.

If i were to install an SSD, does anyone know where i can find the drives i need to install, like Mobo drive, CPU, Lan/Wifi driver, Sound Card driver and all other drivers. Do i need to download webcam driver? for anything for the HD display?

I asked the same general question. I haven't yet bought a SSD, but here is the dialogue from my questions answered by an Newegg tech:

Here's the deal: if you're set on getting an SSD, you'll need to purchase an M.2 SSD (Samsung 850 EVO M.2) for example. Based on your selected 240GB posted goal, perhaps the ~$79 
SAMSUNG 850 EVO M.2 250GB SATA III Internal SSD Single Unit Version MZ-N5E250BW will meet your goal. (500GB version goes for $151).
You're in for some work though. I suggest you upgrade the memory while you're in there. Watch this YouTube video:

You : Thanks, David. I'm looking at a Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 2.5" 240GB SATA III. Specs say that it's 7mm thick. Does that qualify as slim?

Yes it does.  I do not know if the color changeable(just unboxed this afternoon), but out of the box it has a red backlit keyboard.

Photos show a Type-C port but it's not listed in the specifications...  Even Acer's website is fairly ambiguous about it.  I did see an article claiming that the Nitro series had Type-C with Thunderbolt 3...  Does this system support Thunderbolt 3 and is the Type-C port as shown actually present?

There is a type-C port. But it does not support Thunderbolt. Type-C ports with the thunderbolt symbol do. This does not have the Thunderbolt symbol. That is probably why this is such a good deal. Still great laptop.
