Just spoke with Acer Customer Support and confirmed all information below:
Model Name: A515-44-R0BR,  Part Number: NX.HW8AA.001, acerDOTcom/ac/en/CA/content/model/NX.HW8AA.001"
on Canada site has a full 1080p panel with a brightness of 278 nits, panel is glossy
This model here on Newegg is not the same thing... this is:
Model Number: A515-44-R4M5, Part Number: NX.HW1AA.001, acerDOTcom/datasheets/2020/4876/A515-44/NX.HW1AA.001,
and confirmed by Acer customer support, only has a 1366 x 768 display and was unable to provide info on brightness
Looks like there are numerous variants of the Aspire 5.  I think I'm gonna wait for A515-44-R0BR to appear in US, or try to get it from the Acer Canada store website
Even though I'm only looking for a portable solution to do some light coding work when traveling, it just seems crazy to get anything less than 1080p in 2020....

Just read a review online for this unit and it said that the usb-c port does NOT support charging.  Deal breaker for the reviewer and myself.  The ram IS upgradeable according to ACER, but only to 24 gig???
