Pros: Decently fast and great for the price. Boots up Windows (see cons) in about 1 minute, excluding however long it takes you to enter your password. Keys are intuitive and easy to use. Sleek design (dark blue like others have said) with minimal intrusive bright or blinking lights.

Cons: Since it is a full keyboard, the far-left keys feel awkward to type, since where you would put your hands just isn't there. 3DMark06 score is 3750, which is about half of a desktop with a single-core P4 3.0Ghz and a 7800GT with 256mb of RAM, so the specs on this laptop can be deceiving. Changing the power settings to "Performance" got me another 16 points (negligible), and it loaded just a bit faster. Media buttons aren't immediately compatible with Winamp, and attempt to install Media Player when you press them. There is a huge amount of useless-ware (as others have mentioned) that is installed when you first unpack. Hit the windows key+r, then type in "msconfig" and go to the Startup tab to disable most of them, keep your security and power management stuff. After that, it starts up in 1 min as mentioned in the "pros" section above. USB ports are all very close the front, which is awkward for some components that are big or you don't normally unplug

Overall Review: If you'd call it a con, the keyboard has some give to it, and the arrow keys are quite loud. Pressing a key hard causes the whole keyboard area to depress inward. Using SpeedFan, CPU temps got all the way up to 73C when running 3DMark06 WITH a notebook cooler, which is insanely high. I wonder if the processor life is shortened by those temperatures. Idles around 46-52C. However, despite these high temperatures, the outside of the laptop doesn't get very hot. Overall, happy with my purchase, but it's good to be informed.

Pros: Everything you will need out of a mid power laptop... The laptop runs on a 2.2GHz AMD processor and DDR2 667 RAM and the hefty 1gig Radeon HD3650, so you won't get a bad gaming experience. I am very pleased with this laptop as it almost reaches the power of my desktop. The 1gig of Video ram comes in handy in most games, I can run GTA 4, along with Fallout 3, GTA 4, COD 4 on High/Extra High settings. If you are looking for gaming on the go and you are on a budget this is the machine to get. Don't listen to the people badmouthing Acer, they offer good machines for great prices.

Cons: Don't expect super amazing gaming quality for Crysis or anything that complex, even with one gig of V-ram as the system will bottleneck at the processor. GTA 4 looks great but you have to tweak some settings around so you don't get lag. Again bottle necking at the processor. Crysis runs smooth at Medium settings with 4x AA

Overall Review: I will soon change the RAM to DDR2 800 or DDR2 1066 if the mother board will accept 1066 which I doubt, and this laptop may actually be as powerful as my desktop. Also do your self a favor and download a Vanilla edition of Vista Home Premium Edition (64bit) off the net (you have a legal key under your laptop, so it is all legit) or just get your self a nice copy of Windows 7 64 bit. (Don't forget to get your self the drivers if you install a Vanilla copy of Windows)

Pros: This laptop works well, Vista aint that bad (so far) most of my current software works well with it. A little heavy (expected) but construction is excellent. I may be buying another for my nephew who is using an HP (not bad) but i believe this will work better as a desktop replacement for him. Audio good for a laptop, screen is awesome, getting used to number pad (good thing).maybe an update on this after a month.

Cons: sayd "full hd" but screen cannot support 1080p (1920x1080) resolution, 720p still is not bad. no BluRay or HDdvd, can buy external if needed. This thing is HUGE, bought Pelican 17" hardcase barely fits. width is ok, but is wider than most front to back. Keep this in mind if looking for a case, a 17 inch "extra Roomy Laptop Compartment" is a requirement to protect this awesome laptop! left usb seems to nol like my microsoft mouse (imagine that...vista not liking a microsoft product hahaha) but works on other ports ( non recognizable usb device error)

Overall Review: new to vista. as mentioned by others, formatting weird. Making restore discs no brainer, actually prompts you to do so. bloatware removed before restore. I will be putting games etc on this, eventually move to external drive. NOTE FOR PEOPLE WHO RECORD/EDIT LIVE MUSIC! Line in a plus, PROTOOLS 8 seems to run fine on this laptop, so if you have/are in a band look at this as a serious contender to MACBOOK Pro. It is faster and lots cheaper, out can be analog or spdif . I have a desktop workstation wuth PROTOOLS8 M-Powered and an M-Audio audiophile 2496 sound card for studio editing and this laptop compliments that workstation and also has the guts to game!

Pros: What NewEgg doesn't tell you, but those little stickers under the keyboard do...is "FULL HD 1080 PLAYBACK" "Free Office-60 Trial" "Built in subwoofer and dolby home theatre speakers" With Virtual Surround Sound As for the asthetics...the laptop is black and silver inside but the outside is a really nice blue with metal flake...much like some of the newer cars being built today... The sound is amazing for a laptop, the max res is 1366x768. Its a lot bigger than the pictures lead you to believe...I have a poor sense of weight, so the 7 pounds felt heavier than I imagined it would... I popped in one of the few dvds that I have (Nightmare Before Christmas) and the detail was amazing, exactly like the giant T.V. in the other room... The keyboard really isn't that bad, the keys are very soft and quiet, which I find to be really nice...its not overly cramped for having an full number pad...

Cons: The mouse pad is not nearly as sensitive as I would like it...you have to apply more pressure than the weight of your finger...the scroll bar works when it wants to...HOWEVER this means that it doesn't randomly move the cursor or click on something in the middle of typing... Comes with a ton of crapware, easy to get rid of...but very annoying all the same...tons of stupid little games...

Overall Review: I have terrible internet reception in my bedroom, where I keep it, but it still streams HD quality vids from YouTube and Hulu as though I were sitting next to the router in my office...I havent test out any games but its got an amazing card... I did a ton of research before I bought this laptop, its truly the best if it falls in the mid to upper end of your budget/price range...It compares to and beats out many $1000+ laptops, it has great specs and an even greater price!

Pros: Great performance, plenty of main memory and 1 GB Video memory. Vista has been performing well, no problems other than the normal abundance of glitz. Screen is ULTRA bright and the keyboard is exceptional for a laptop. Wireless speed is the same as Ethernet cable, according to "speedtest". Great looking computer and it is a lot lighter than I thought it would be.

Cons: The first one I had to send back to Newegg because the keyboard started failing, but before that I had to reload the OS (4) four separate times while trying to clean up the bloatware. I luckily recalled the need for backups and didn't lose all of the 60 some MS updates required to bring it up to date, or the other software I was unsuccessfully installing. Newegg sent me a new one and it arrived ahead of schedule, I was only without a laptop for a week. The replacement has NOT exhibited any of the bad behavior of the first one, and bloatware, incl Mccafee all removed without problem. The only downside is the machine comes without Bluetooth! Which REALLY surprised me, I thought ALL of the newer ones had it standard like the HP I bought for my wife a year ago! So, my bad for not reading the specs carefully enough, not a deal breaker but disappointing. BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY it's cheap and VERY helpful if you get a problem child.

Overall Review: Only talked to Acer support once and they were prompt, helpful and took care of my problems.

Pros: Has no problem running Vista. 1Gig of dedicated video memory! Excellent performance for price. Love the way it looks/feels (Cover is a deep, dark blue, very glossy; not black as the pictures led me to believe) Full number pad on keyboard.

Cons: Somewhat low resolution screen Fair amount of pre-installed "crapware" Slightly cramped keyboard due to the number pad but nothing to bad. Acer split the hard drive partition almost 50/50 I prefer 80/20 or 75/25 but again no big deal.

Overall Review: Runs Sins of a Solar Empire and Half Life 2 at max settings and Unreal Tournament 3 at pretty high settings as well. So it can handle gaming pretty well. Overall I'm very happy with my purchase. Best bang for the buck I could find.

Pros: This machine is truly loaded with 4 GB of speedy DDR RAM and 1 GB of dedicated video RAM, and the Radeon HD 3650 is solid for gaming and business use. The 16:9 widescreen is crisp and clear. The 360 GB hard drive is generous, but is a 5400 RPM model. The AMD Turion X2 Ultra ZM-82 dual core CPU is the lowest rated component in the Windows Experience Index, but your mileage here may vary. The default Acer ePower Management software throttles the CPU speed considerably to save battery power, and uninstalling it sped up performance for me. The many Acer trialware apps were not an issue once removed, and I recommend Revo Uninstaller for this, as many of them leave quite a bit of detrius behind. Wireless performance is brisk despite the absence of Bluetooth options. The surround sound is particularly good for a notebook, and the large keyboard is very comfortable to use and even includes a number pad. Overall, this notebook compares favorably to products costing hundreds of dollars more.

Cons: Nothing serious. The deluge of trialware can be removed although this takes a while. The 5400 RPM hard drive is split into two partitions, which I hate, but Vista makes this easy to fix if you don't mind losing Acer's recovery data. A 7200 RPM hard drive would probably be a good investment if you do a lot of data intensive work. Acer provides no disc media, so backup your data partition if you don't have a phsical copy of the OS. The wireless upload speed is a bit poky and I would have preferred a blue LED to the orange one provided. The Optiarc optical drive is noisy but seems reliable so far, and the onboard webcam is a nice extra even if its software support is lacking. The BIOS is mostly locked, and gives the user very little control over options and settings. The deep blue finish on the lid looks great but will show every smudge and fingerprint. Acer support seems adequate if not outstanding, but if you need current drivers, the respective manufacturer sites will serve you better.

Overall Review: I bought this to replace my old HP notebook, but this Acer outperforms it by such a wide margin that it almost qualifies as a desktop replacement. The already low sale price was made even better by Newegg's stellar customer service. I enthusiastically recommend this unit to anyone who needs a well-rounded notebook for light gaming or heavy business use.

Pros: I love the full keyboard. One thing i hate about laptops is the mini keyboard. The wide screen looks great. Runs almost anything I can throw at it (Anything on steam right now, DoW2, etc..) although some games do have to be set at mid graphics. I love and hate the glossy blue top look of it. For the size, it's pretty light (7.5lbs or so)

Cons: The top of it gets dirty pretty fast with finger prints, and gets scraped up if your not careful. Runs a little hot, not to bad. Says it has a sub woofer and surround sound, and although the sound isn't bad, it's not fantastic. There was a lot of junk ware installed on it when first arrived. Had to uninstall a lot of stuff, and tweak the start up files

Overall Review: For the price, this is a pretty good deal. I wish the ram was ddr3, or at least 1060mhz ddr2 but... for the price 4G ddr2 667 is not bad. I've had this for a month now and haven't had any real problems with it.
