Pros: This laptop can pretty much handle my day to day use, I consistently have Pidgin(AIM Client), Firefox, and SAM3 Broadcaster (DJ Program) open and everything still opens briskly. The graphics card can handle most of the games i've thrown at it, then again I havent tried running a graphically demanding game (right now i'm running Red Alert 3 and Left4Dead). Webcam is crystal clear, it's better than my Logitech that i have for my desktop. Everything runs smooth for the most part, I haven't had any glitches yet.

Cons: The partition that Acer has installed as the default is kinda blah (C drive has 143GB, D drive has 139 GB), but nothing too major. My only other complaint is Vista and how annoying the "Are you sure..." questions are, but that can be overlooked. The Windows DVD maker is kinda moody, working when it wants to, but I don't really use that anyways so it's not a big deal.

Overall Review: This laptop is worth pretty much every penny I spent on it, it's a good combo of tech for the money. I used to be a Toshiba guy, but this is a quality machine that Acer has built. I recommend this laptop to anyone who doesn't wanna spend money for the extreme high end laptops

Overall Review: I am a reseller, and user. I only carry the Toshi group and Acer Group [Acer, Gateway, eMachines], Samdung, and Hpree... You will not find another notebook of the 35 now on New Egg that has the features for this price with the P8600 Intel. This is the best of their entire series. P & T in the prefix always stand for 25 and 35 watt respectively. If you price this at a website you will find that this processor is worth 200 to 350 extra-any notebook. Now, the Acer Features: If you do not like Acer Backup, then you are cheating yourself. It is one of the best factory systems out there, as is the Samsung. If you are not familiar with using it, learn. I am telling you the pluses are many and faults and failures are few with Acer. Also, one of the few that will allow dual booting of Vista/Win7. Made elsewhere but Acer Support is in Houston. Could not find a better company to work with on parts. This record goes back to 2005 products for me. Hope this Helps

Pros: Comes with a great graphics card and processor for the cost. The wireless has nice signal distance and definately a plus that it is wireless-N. The keyboard is pretty sturdy, a little give in it but not enough to cause a problem, also, the number pad is a nice addition. The touchpad has the same finish as the rest of the lower laptop which i like.the screen is very crisp and no dead pixels for me woot. webcam is clear and convenient. the quick use touch area above the keyboard is rather sensitive so you don't have to put a lot of pressure on them for the computer to recognize it. the gaming capability of this laptop is great have played bioshock, unreal tournament 3, team fortress 2 and such at ax graphics without any issues. Overall an amazing laptop for the price, got mine for $899.

Cons: where to start? 1. Acer customer support is non-existent at BEST. 2. Instantly removed vista and put xp on it but had to find all of my drivers from sites other than the acer website since they make it impossible to find the drivers and their site was down for weeks. 3. Bloatware-but that is normal 4. The secondary hard drive area is horribly undersized. I spent nearly half an hour sanding the inside of the plastic cover and the edge of my extra hard drive to even make it fit with a reasonable amount of warp in the cover. after about an hour of sanding even more i got it to fit right but it was horribly too small to start with.

Overall Review: personally i love my new laptop, yes there are problems with it but for the most part an amazing laptop for the price. I would have given it a 5 egg rating if acer would have gotten their heads out of their butts with the customer service.

Pros: Now that my AC adapter has arrived after five days, the laptop works fine. It's a good system, played some older games on it, they run great. (Tomb Raider : Anniversary, Dark Messiah of Might & Magic, and even Assassin's Creed at medium detail ran pretty well.) For the price, that's impressive.

Cons: Absolutely infested with worthless software that you'll want to uninstall as soon as you get it. One time deal, but still irritating for ~ 45 minutes or so. Though there is a system restore partition (hidden, ofcourse), there is no physical media backup for that partition. The laptop urges you to make one, however this takes an hour and a half and 3 blank DVDs. Not the smoothest system in the world...

Overall Review: For the money, it's a great laptop when it works. I've upped my rating to 4 stars, I'd give it 5 except for the junkware and the non-existant customer service.

Pros: This is the cheapest price for the CPU(Core 2 Duo P8600)+GPU(9600M)+Mem(4gigs) combo. Performance is GREAT so far. 64-Bit OS. Centrino 2. 16 inch wide screen size. HDMI out works great on my 37inch samsung LCDTV. Glossy screens make the picture quality crisp and crystal clear, love it. Supports SDHC memory cards. One-touch - volume controls, playback controls, & wifi.

Cons: full numeric pad on keyboard forces u to type slightly to the left along with use of touchpad. It's rather thick due to the subwoofer and 2nd sata hard drive bay underneath so it looks bulky on my desk compared to my Acer Aspire 5672. Hard drive speed is 5400RPM, I am swapping it with a 7200RPM. Junk software to remove (as expected; not too much though). I don't mean to be picky but if you're looking for style or something that turns head, this is won't cut it. Comes with Vista but if you know your way around a PC you can tweak it. Graphics card needs update, go through Nvidia website, no a con really. It weighs a hefty 7.5lbs but considering the hardware its reasonable.

Overall Review: I could have done without the full numeric pad so that my hands and touchpad would be centered on computer. I was not aware that laptops came with 2 hard drive bays (awesome!). I can't find WinXP drivers for the hardware in order to downgrade to XP. I recommend installing Inspirat on any XP setup to add the vista style windows and icons (otherwise xp is dull). This is my 2nd Acer and so far very pleased (just don't buy their lowergrade models). I was going to buy a $am$ung NC10 cause batt life (6hrs) and size (10.2inch 2.5lbs) but I wanted something powerful to replace my desktop and something that can manage photoshop CS4 and lightroom (this is it!). Get a wireless laser mouse. So its glossy and prone to fingerprints, big deal, this is not a pageant show. Worried about hard drive failure? clone your hard drive using xternal hard drive case n 2.5hdd. Its a great laptop despite its cons, I confidently recommend this.

Pros: I paid over $150 less than my boyfriend paid for his slower, smaller and less flashy Dell. It is a very attractive laptop and I guess that could be a downfall because pretty things are more likely to be stolen (but what kind of idiot steals an acer, honestly). It runs World of Warcraft and Vanguard at 30-60 fps in highly populated areas with mid to low graphics settings. Ubuntu makes a wonderful replacement for Vista and runs almost out of the box (I am personally still having some minor issues with the sound card). It has a full 10 key.

Cons: I despise Vista. There's a lot of bloatware but that's pretty standard for any laptop. I was not provided with any CDs for any drivers or software, including the OS (not that I mind, it runs Ubuntu with minimal issues). It does not come with a laptop bag but that personally doesn't bother me. Did I already mention that I hate Vista. I hate Vista. I personally prefer pointing sticks (trackpoint) but meh, I have a wireless mouse.

Overall Review: There are actually 2 hidden partitions, one to restore Vista and then one labeled Windows XP something or other. If you'd rather make a back up disk, be sure to have DVDRs on hand as I believe it would require over a dozen CDRs to burn the backup.

Pros: What more can you ask for? I have now owned this unit for 5 months. I am a 3rd year architecture student and have consistently ran SKETCHUP, Photoshop, CADD and Kerkythia and have had no problems at all with any of them. Nice screen, AMAZING dedicated graphics card, and plenty of storage to place my files and renderings.

Cons: At times the touch pad is uncooperative but I combatted that by buying a wireless mouse. The screen does not tilt back all the way and at times it makes the viewing area hard to see.

Overall Review: I seriously doubt you will find another laptop with all of this hardware on it for this price. I have seen what everyone else has commented on about this unit however I advise finding the benchmark scores for this one and comparing to everything else. For the price I think you will be pleasantly surprised. This is the reason I waited almost a half of a year to comment on my purchase of this machine.
