can i replace the 1 TB  hard drive  with a 2 TB hard drive ?

Yes, you can.  But I recommend to replace with SSD as a system drive and use HDD as a data storage.

Does this come with a recovery disk?

No, it does not come with a recovery disk, but they provide a way for you to create your own recovery USB. It is an "all-or-nothing" installation, however: you can't pick and choose what to install, so it cannot be used as a way of getting rid of any bloatware. It also has a recovery partition on the hard drive, which does the same thing so you really don't need the recover USB unless the hard drive dies. You can also contact Acer support, and if you beg (which is what I did), they will ship you (free) ad recovery USB thumb drive.

Does this PC have a built in speaker?

No built in speaker. Just plug in to sound port on back a set of speakers and your ready to go. Also this computer works fantastic. I'm a retired professional computer software instructor and this is a great buy.

Has anyone used this with 2 monitors yet? If so, how fast is it with 2 monitors?

Yes, it works fine with two monitors and is not noticeably slowed down at all.  This is a good machine at a good price.  Sadly, I needed to be able to install an SSD in the available M2 slot, but the BIOS did not support that, so I returned the computer to Newegg and built a new one for myself.

Should I buy the newegg warranty with this?

Most manufacturers have 1 year warranty on their parts as it is. That is really all that is needed. Extending a warranty is kind of a waist in my opinion because if anything is going to go wrong with the device it will go wrong within the first year.

Question 6

Spec page shows 2 M.2 slots.  The page also says 1 available.  If this machine comes with one M.2 port in use and has a SATA 7200RPM drive (which is not M.2) what is using the M.2 slot?  ...and can I use the available M.2 port (without disconnecting ANYTHING).   Also, which M.2 is it? A or B?

There is an empty M.2.2280 slot, but the BIOS currently offered (12/14/16) has no capability to recognize it, so the slot is unusable.  Similarly the bios will not handle a graphics card in the PCIe16  slot.  Acer support gives no hope that a new bios is going to be available.

Had this machine for 2 months. No issues at all. Great speed and very fast book. I have been surprised. Works much better than I expected. Great price and good product.

Can you add in a discrete graphics card? Like a GTX 1060?

There's a PCIEx16 slot and IO bracket space for it. It's only a 300W PSU, so the 1060 may be the upper-limit of what it can do. I can't readily see any PCIe power plugs on the PSU, so you'd best find a 1060 that doesn't require an PCIe power plug or look into a lower-power GPU.

Is there a spot to mount an SSD drive, including a free SATA slot and power?

There is a place to mount an SSD drive, but there is no empty SATA port on the motherboard. The board has 2 SATA ports and both are used; one for the HD and one for the optical drive. I had to purchase a small PCI SATA controller (I got the startech one) to add an SSD drive. No fuss; worked like a champ.

Question 10

Currently, i switched power supply, added 1050ti, and SATA samsung ssd. Next week, ryzen 7 1700 and motherboard MSI x370 gaming plus is coming, my biggest concern is if the motherboard would not fit in this Mid tower. Anyone has an idea? Otherwise, I have to buy new computer case. I know, it already has become a totally different computer hahahaha

Check the dimensions of the motherboard vs the size of the case... A few years back (5 to 7) I picked up an IBUYPOWER Open box computer from NewEgg and put in a new motherboard, new power supply, SSD, and Dual graphics cards. The most difficult thing was the power supply, which ended up at 1,000 watts... That machine is still running well,,,
