Under glare, the specs state No. So what does that mean? Is it a matte screen or not?

The screen is matte.  That being said, it does suffer from glare / being washed out, if there is a bright light source behind / above you.

Does this monitor support DVI-I (so would support incoming analog or digital signal) or is just DVI-D digital only?

Accepted Answer

DVD-D. As you probably noticed, this isn't listed in the data sheet or manual. I have 4 of these and on the panel beside the connector it is labeled DVI-D.

Question 3

Do the USB3 ports require a USB3 port on your computer OR does the monitor use the DisplayPort/Thunderbolt lead from the computer to also carry USB3 information from the monitor to the computer?

It plugs in to your computer's USB port. If you only have USB2, it will only work at USB2 speeds. If you plug it into a USB3 port on your computer, it will operate at USB3 speeds.

Question 4

Is this monitor able to be daisy chained? As in could I take a thunderbolt or display port from my laptop (Asus ZenBook Pro UX501ZW) and then daisy chain two of these monitors?

Yes, you can. The second display port behind the monitor is specifically for that. No Thunderbolt support though, just display port.

Question 5

Does this have a VESA mount on it, say like, for mounting up a NUC computer to the back of this monitor? {I did not see anything like that in the picture.}

I bought this for a client so I don't have it in front of me.  However looking at the photo on the Newegg WEB Site reminded me .  The STAND connects to the Monitors VESA Mount.  So (as I understand it) if you use the stand (which is quite good) then you loose the ability to mount anything else to the VESA Mount.  BTW I'm familiar with the NUC as I'm setting up 13 Core i3 Skylake NUC's for the same client.

VESA Compatibility - What is the real VESA mount standard this monitor uses for mounting options; 150mm listed in specs is a non-standard pattern? Thanks

It's standard. I have mine attached to an ergotron arm and it works great.

Does the vertical screen work as is without special software, or is there special software included that enables it? I ask because I really only do Linux, and would only be interested in something that just worked as is, without a need for special hardware.

No special hardware required.  For optimal resolution and refresh rate, use the DisplayPort connector.
