can a dvd drive be added to this machine?

Yes, it is possible, but I personally am unsure how to do so. I'm sure there are guides online on how to do it. That said, unless you have prior experience building/opening up computers, I'd suggest just getting an external USB DVD drive. Much easier as it is essentially plug and play. I bought the laptop because I have no use for DVD's, but in case I did, I'd get a cheap USB DVD drive ha ha.

I would like to add 4 GB Memory, what do you recommend?

The graphics card is AMD Radeon R4. It is adequate for basic computing. Not recommended for high-end graphics or gaming.
