Does it have an audio output jack?

Yeah man it does, although the speakers are kind of weak, if you do use them. The quality is otherwise pretty good.

Is the monitor vesa mountable?

No...and that was a deal breaker for me!   Why in the name of God they are STILL making monitors without VESA capability in 2017 is beyond me.  But it is what it is.  They lost the sale of four monitors because they didn't have VESA capability.  Their loss, I suppose...

Question 3

Would this be a good monitor to play consoles with HDMI connection? I'm a little worried about using a 60 hz monitor for games that only go up to 30 fps.

While the game may play at 30fps, the console (assuming we're talking a console made within the last 10 years to so) should output a 60hz signal which is the standard for most monitors and TVs. The console simply outputs the same frame twice to upscale the refresh rate from 30 to 60 (this doesn't improve the quality at all, just allows the refresh rates to match). This should be the case with virtually any 60hz monitor, including this one.

Now that said, whether or not the built-in speakers will work is a different matter, the internal speakers get detected in Windows as a separate audio device, and I personally haven't tried them with a console or other HDMI device, so your results for getting sound through it may vary depending on your console.

Beyond that, these are pretty good monitors, I've had two for the better part of a year and I haven't had any complaints yet. The audio is a bit quiet but decent quality for monitor speakers (though most people will rarely, if ever, use the internal speakers). I've found Acer tends to make a pretty solid product when it comes to computer monitors.

tl;dr: It should work fine.

Question 4

If i lose power and it comes back on will this monitor turn back on on its own?

I had the same issue. Unplug the adapter from everything and wait about 1 hour. Then plug it into power and see if the light on the brick comes on(if it has one). Or just connect it to the monitor. I ordered a replacement and before it showed up the original started working again.

Question 5

The G247HYL is listed in some places as 16:9 (1920x1080) and here as 16:10 (1920x1200).  This doesn't seem possible, which one is it?

I called Acer, and the rep said if you buy from them, you will get a 1920 x 1200 panel.

I want to get a HDMI cable. Do I get HDMI 2.0 or 2.1?

An HDMI 2.0 cable should work fine. Most devices don't even support HDMI 2.1 yet, and since the max resolution on this is 1080p at 60Hz, version 2.0 should be more than adequate. In fact you could probably even get away with an HDMI 1.4 cable if you wanted to save some money, you shouldn't notice any performance difference on this monitor given the specs.

Could i use the headphone 3.5mm audio jack as an audio out for speakers?

Question 9

The G247HYL monitor seems to have (by looking at the pictures) a very thin bezel; has anyone measured it or have documentation that tells the bezel width?

Measured it and it's around 7mm, give or take a little. Outside plastic bezel is basically the height of a quarter laying down (not measurable), but the display doesn't reach the bezel, and has black screen (visable in the pictures), which basically makes up the entire 7mm. Still extremely thin compared to other monitors of this price.

Question 10

Is this monitor HDCP compatible?  Could not find any mention either here or at ACER's website.

Can't say for sure but they say it's a good bet these days that any monitor w/ DVI/HDMI connections supports HDCP as it's been quite widely adopted.
