IT WILL BUT THE TROUCH SCREEN FEATURES ARE NOT PART OF WINDOWS 7, SO IT WOULD BE USEFUL AS JUST A GOOD MONITOR. SINCE WINDOWS IS GOING UPGRADE FREE FOR WINDOWS 10, THOSE TOUCH FEATURES WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR USE.

this is not an hi-end monitor & it doesn't have a processor nor memory to concern with but it is a very good budget touch screen monitor with extremely accurate touch feature & i love the idea of USB3.0.  good luck & have fun! PJT

are there drivers for windows 10 and what stylus would work?

Capacitive screens use electrical conductivity to recognize "touches" and I'm pretty sure this one is capacitive. In that case, any standard stylus you would use for tablets, phones etc. would work with it as that's the typical mobile devices touch recognition as well.

It says refurbished, does it still come with every thing it would come with if it was new?

I believe it does.  I got all the wiring that I needed with it.  I don't believe there was any manuals or software since it is just a plug and play device.  Works great since I got it.

This item is window 8 compatible and is toushscreen?

Yes to both - be aware, though, that you might not get a manual or drivers with it (I didn't) so you might have to download them.  Also, I had to re-calibrate mine to get it to respond properly to touch.  It took a lot of research on my own and I finally stumbled on a fix in Acer's FAQ's on how to do it.  Almost missed it, too - question referred to multiple monitors but still works.  Nobody at Acer or Newegg was able to help me.  As a matter of fact, Acer told me it was out of warranty and they would not help at all!  Almost returned it but now I am really happy with it.

Are the usb ports on the side USB 2.0 or 3.0. I know if you buy the "brand new" item from newegg they are USB 3.0 but it is unclear which spec this refurbished model has. Can anyone confirm?

Mine has 3 USB 3.0 ports on the side, they work great. Unfortunately the speakers are very poor, low volume and can't be remedied according to Acer tech support. 
Also might note the resolution is 1920x1080. Touch works very well also. I am pleased overall.

is there an output for sound from the monitor? how is the speaker ? can you connect a Google chrome to it and use it as stand alone monitor ?

Yes there's an audio output port (3.5 mm aux cable port).

The speakers are decent but nothing fancy. I wouldn't expect for any greater quality sound than what you would hear from the standard Ipod headphones they use to include as an accessory.

I don't know what you mean by connect Google Chrome to it. If you have a device that has software on it that uses a display it will display whatever the device is meant to display. The Touchscreen compatibility with device would be the only thing in question because this monitor requires an available USB port to plug in the cable for touchscreen input to be interpreted by the device.

Not a computer, just a display.  Should work with any computer/OS that can output to a displayport/HDMI output.
