Yes.  Monitors are operating system agnostic, meaning they work with any operating system as long as the video card (or video on the motherboard) is working.

does this have VGA connections?

Yes. There are 3 different types of connectors in the back one for HDMI, one labeled DVI and a VGA in connector.

Does this monitor have the 4 holes in the back so it can be used with a screw on mount?

Yes, if you look in the pictures, there is one of the back of the monitor to verify. I have had this monitor mounted the entire time I have had it. Love it. Only thing that is not ideal for me is the ac/dc adapter for the plug instead of the standard monitor cable. No big deal, just a personal preference.

can this work with an xbox ?

Yes, so long as you are connecting via an HDMI cable.  Any monitor with an HDMI port should connect to hardware via the HDMI cord to its own HDMI port.

So far, this monitor has been fantastic, and I do recommend it at its sale price.

Can this be used as a TV?

Generally speaking, if your TV has an HDMI plug and the video card on your computer has one too, it can be done. But, depending on other things, the resulting output may or may not be the best. If you have a really large TV (say 48") the resulting images sent from the computer may be less than pristine. But, for some people less than pristine is fine. The bottom line is that you will just have to try it and see if the results are up to par for your senses. Remember that the beauty of an HDMI cable is that it is capable of carrying both the video signal as well as the audio signal.

Is there any way to hook up external speakers? I want to run my PS3 through this monitor but the speakers are not nearly loud enough. Can I hook my computer speakers up? Thanks!

You have to connect a female 3.5mm Jack to 2-RCA Jacks Audio Adapter ( http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=9SIA00Z0NU3933 ) to the RCA cable that came with your console. Set Video to HDMI and Audio to the third option "Audio Input Connector" or turn on "Audio Multi-Output" to get sound out of the headphones and the TV at the same time. Hope this works out for you.

Even though the monitor has its own speakers, can you hook up your own speakers to your PC and have them run instead of monitor speakers?

Accepted Answer

Yes.  If you are using vga or dvi the monitor requires a separate sound cable for the speakers.  The monitor works normally with vga and dvi without the audio cable, so you can run the audio cable to different speakers if you prefer.  I haven't tried this with hdmi.

Does this monitor have a wall mount capability?  I have a 3x3 wall mount on the wall and want to be sure it is compatible.

Maria, yes it is mountable. The information you want to look for is in the Specs under Convenience. - Vesa compatible. and yes it is 100 x 100. which is about 4". I'm not sure what your 3x3 wall mount is but 100 x 100 is pretty standard for monitors.
