Pros: - very thin
- nice small bezel, you get "all screen"
- great response
- great dynamic range
- VESA mountable
Cons: - speakers are miserable...save the mfg cost and just leave them out!
- controls at bottom of screen take patience to learn.
- the stand is a joke, I think the 'tilt' function == 'bending metal inside stand'. I tried it once and felt like I was going to break something!
- back of monitor is concave; universal VESA brackets will not work (or will need to be modified).
I was on the fence between 4 and 5 eggs, but these nuisances along with the deep commitment needed to adjust this monitor (see below), made me take off one egg.
Overall Review: I got lucky and have no bad pixels. I also got a great deal on sale and with a code, $119.95. Probably should have bought two.
It took me over an hour to get this monitor adjusted to normal human standards. The brightness and contrast were way off and the gamma was horrendous. I had to use Windows 7 gamma adjustment and color adjustment, and my old Samsung 17" monitor as a 'bench reference' -- but I finally got it nailed.
Once it is dialed in the picture is stunning (seriously...stunning), but if you use it out of the box without adjusting it you will be very disappointed, trust me on this.
Pros: Amazing picture quality!!! I absolutely love this monitor and I cannot believe how cheap it was!!! Base is very sturdy. It barely shakes on my old desk when I nudge it. Looks amazing as well. Very clean and very well put together.
Cons: None at all!
Overall Review: I have no say on the speakers because I am a headset gamer, but if you plan on buying a monitor with built in speakers and expect them to be good... You're gonna have a bad time.
Pros: Matte screen surface
Comes with a VGA cable, DVI cable, and HDMI cable.
Gotta say this is the best monitor I have ever purchased, the picture is very clear, there are no dark corners or edges, and it looks absolutely slick on my desk.
To get more specific, I can read text easily, watch videos comfortably, and my games(Metro Last Light, Aion, Far Cry 3, Battlefield 3) look amazing on it.
Cons: Other than the manual not having assembly instructions(You put the 'neck' into the screen and tighten a single screw, then attach the desk base to that and one more screw, done. Idiot proof.)...
No complaints. Grab this even when it isn't still on sale because it is a great monitor.
Overall Review: Absolutely satisfied with this impulse buy. Might even get another ASAP for a matching pair.
Pros: Great Price. Great Size. Fast Shipping. 3 year warranty on Acer Products. It came with a VGA, DVI and an HDMI cable. I don't see that very often. The base is solid and does not squeak unlike my ASUS which I gave to my wife. This was a really nice deal all the way around. I am glad Newegg still had it in stock. One of my better purchases in 2014.
Cons: I hooked up my Pioneer Elite AV receiver to the onboard speakers. No question about. The speakers suck, but I didn't buy the monitor for sound. Everything else about this LCD is great. I see no problems. When I play games the picture is steady and clear.
Overall Review: I really think that two should have been offered for the price of one. That said. The monitor is a great deal. I thought my 20" Dell ST2010 looked good. It's not even close.
Pros: Got it on sale with the promo code for $119.
This was my first TN panel wasn't sure how it would look but to my surprise looks great, 0 dead or stick pixels, very clear picture, good colors, fairly thin bezel about 1/2 inch, VERSA mount, no washed out corners.
Cons: I bought it to late to test it out and still get 2 more for the same price. Newegg put this back on sale so I can buy 2 more please.
Overall Review: Can't comment on the stand I'm not using it.
Pros: good price
Somehow the q&a states I've owned many acer monitors, which I have NOT.
Cons: Overdrive ghosting and power off issues.
Blah, asked acer about this and they didn't have a solution.
The service menu doesn't allow turning off or reducing overdrive, so I'm stuck with headaches.
Yes I'm that sensitive to light and blur- I hate motion blur in games too LOL
Pros: +Great resolution
+No screen bleed in the dark
+Easy to set up
+Multiple input ports
Cons: -Nearly inaudible speakers, even at max volume
-No audio output port
-Can't tilt or adjust screen height
Overall Review: I got 2 of these on sale for $120 dollars each and they're absolutely worth it at that price. The speaker problem really isn't the biggest problem for me personally but it's not hard to imagine that it could be a deal breaker for some people without headphones or a sound system.
The quality is really nice and if you're like me who used a 720p lcd tv for 5 years the jump in quality and resolution is astounding.
This monitor is really easy to setup, no drivers to install or anything like that. just plug into the wall and pc and you're good to go.
All in all I would recommend this as a good monitor for the price.
Pros: excellent amount of real estate. picture looks excellent. Comes with all the cables.
Cons: none so far
Overall Review: I heard the audio is terrible, but I'm not using the monitor to transmit my audio so I can't say how bad it is. However, if you want a good monitor and you can get it for under $140, then don't delay
