I would recommend a Display port cable, the general rule I go by is for best quality on monitor is display port. Best quality on TV (movies and such) HDMI, Both latest versions. Hopes this helps

In the monitor on screen settings make sure freesync is turned on. Then g sync should show up in the nvidia driver panel

I would suggest a Dell P or U series monitor for that. This monitor only does one thing good and that is high refresh-rate gaming. Not that bright and colors are not great.

The Xbox cannot do that many frames per second, the max for an Xbox in certain titles is 60 FPS  while most games only do 30 FPS, you will get the most out of this monitor by pairing it with a pc
