So, the only thing holding me back from getting this monitor is the rampant complaints about flickering and tearing issues. Is it confirmed to be only when using HDMI over Display Port? Thank you.

The issue could happen at any time over HDMI or Display Port.
I bought two and was able to return one for refund. One the second unit the issue appeared after the return period.
I sent the monitor to Acer and they send it back with the same issue. Newegg had to get involved. They fixed the flickering issue but now the monitor goes dark. I would not buy this unit even if it was half priced.

Does it bring a display port cable?

No, HDMI only, to use all the features of the monitor you must supply your own DisplayPort Cable

the monitor i got has a yellowish tent to it did i somehow get a tn panel i thought this was suppose to be an ips panel?

The panel is IPS. If you're still not sure, look at the panel from an angle, you should still be able to see everything on the screen clearly. The yellow tint can be fixed if you go into the settings on your monitor (the circle button on the back of the screen will open it up). Change the color options to what you're comfortable with. If you're just trying to get rid of the  yellow tint, either decrease R and G or increase B.

Is this actually an IPS display? It advertises a 1ms response time which I've heard isn't possible on IPS displays.

Yes, it is able to due to the VRB System built into the monitor itself. Only issue is that it will not work at that speed if the GPU is not able to support the speed and/or resolution. I use a EVGA NVIDIA GTX 1070 Black Gaming edition GPU and it works wonderfully. Has a random glitch during extreme prolonged  use but considering the price it is a good monitor. I have had it a couple months and it has worked out the glitches after benchmark shakedown.

According to AMD's list of Freesync monitors this is a VA panel, but the description here says IPS, which is it?

Acer's website itself as well as store listings such as this one say IPS. Review sites also refer to it as having IPS technology. I think it is a simple mistake on AMD's site.

Is it possible to enable both HDR and Freesync on this monitor? I would like to run them concurrently.

Most definitely not possible.  Nor on any other monitor I have used.  If you find one compatible of running both simultaneously, please let me know.

Can you dial this back to 1080p if necessary to get better performance while gaming?  Thanks.

Modern video cards can provide excellent upscaling. I turn the monitor's scaling off and use the scaling in AMD's driver. Sometimes, when games first start up after installing in 1080p I don't notice it right away. It can be that good. Not as good as native resolution, but good enough if you don't have a video card that can play at 1440p.

Does this support a VESA 100x100 stand?

Yes, it is vesa mount compatible, I use one that size as well.
