Question 3

Trying to decide between this and the other K272HUL, which seems to be nearly the same but it's display is TN and it's response time is 1ms not 4ms. How much of a difference do those 3 milliseconds make, and how much of a difference does the IPS display make?

I bought two of this display and one of the 1ms displays for our office. The color and contrast of this display is noticably superior to the 1ms display and if I had to buy more I would definitely go with the IPS display over the other display.

Question 4

Notice some reviewers stating they got this monitor up to a 72Hz refresh rate. I'm using a GTX-960 card, and can't find any way to do that. Can anyone point me in the right direction to get that done? Thanks.

Gtx 970 here. Go to NVIDIA control panel. Select "change resolution" under the Display category on the left side. Select the customize button in section 2.  Tick the "Enable resolutions not exposed by the display". Click the "Create Custom Resolution..." Button. Mess with the options and click Test. Can't remember but I think some cables only allow certain refresh rates. I'm on a Display Port cable and can get 75 Hz. Sorry for typos on mobile.

Just purchased this monitor but I can't tell if it comes with a DisplayPort cable, so I'm unsure if I need to purchase one.  Anyone know?

Can it do 2560x1440 via HDMI? Or only Display Port?

Should do 2560 x 1440p from DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort.  I know for a fact it does from DisplayPort, as that is how I have mine setup, and I'm getting a full 2560 x 1440p.  Some buyers get confused when they first hook their new monitor up to HDMI or DisplyPort and "No cable connected" appears onscreen.  Since DVI is the default setup, the cable the monitor is looking for, one must use the monitor menu to actually selected the type of cable they are using.  For me, that was DisplayPort, and once I selected it, my monitor worked perfectly.

Can the backlight brightness be adjusted (NOT image brightness)?

As far as I can tell, no, there is only a brightness setting. For what it's worth, if I full screen a black image and adjust my brightness I can see the change in the "brightness" of the black which gives me the impression the backlight is dimming, but I can't say for sure.

How do you overclock it? I see people saying they overclocked it to 75 Hz and i would like to know how to accomplish this.

Google Monitor OCing. Great article by GamersNexus and PcMag that detail it.

If you have a nvidia GPU you can just go into the control panel and set a custom resolution. 2560X1440 75Hz and click okay. Then go into monitor properties and set 75Hz.

Is this screen glossy or matte?

I sit with a window behind me and have never really had a glare issue if that is what you are concerned with. So matte would be the answer you are looking for.

Plan on installing closed circuit cameras, how will this work for that type of operation?

This is a great monitor, I bought mine specifically for gaming. I think it would be a little overkill for a camera system.
