It's a matte finish on the screen. I personally prefer this as I think it reduces any possible glare.

I have 2 side-by-side (have to leave a small gap since the controls are on the back), they are awesome, even one connected to a KVM so I can switch it to a secondary system with the Keyboard and Mouse.  I have played EVE on them, Starcraft II, and many other games as well as business apps like ES* and video online.  I doubt you will be let down by this monitor.  My daughter uses 1 for Minecraft (older model) without issues as well.  Mine are well over 3 years old, never even a dead pixel.

Actually, yes, they do. According to the user manuals for all three Nitro models available on this page (21.5", 23.8" and 27") all have 1/8" audio output jacks suitable for headphones, next to the VGA port. I use headphone jack exclusively on the 23.8" VG240Y model because the speakers... do the job of emitting sound, but without any low end (typical of 2W monitor speakers).

it is a very good monitor for normal res, as far as a play station, i have no idea, doest it  go to 1440 res?

Does this work for an xbox one s?

I would say yes; if the Xbox One S has an HDMI output port, it'll work with this monitor because it has HDMI input ports. Plus, as far as I know, Xbox Ones have AMD FreeSync enabled (at least the first gen Xbox One does), so it's a good choice.

Can a gaming monitor be used as an "all-around" monitor...like for watching movies?

I don't see why not. Usually for gaming you want similar things as you do for movies (such as good black level and color balance). Gaming monitors have a higher refresh rate but this won't have any adverse effects on movies.

If the PS4 has an HDMI out, it should work fine with this monitor and its two HDMI input ports. It works with pcs and other gaming consoles, so I can't imagine it wouldn't work for a PS4.

No according to tech specs. Only HDMI and VGA.

Question 10

Does this have anti blue light film? I guess I don't understand what the Blue Light Shield is comprised of.

This monitor does not have any hardware or film that filters blue light. I believe the blue light shield refers to Acer’s Blue Light Shield application. I do not use it though, just Night mode on Windows.
