Fantastic Monitor 4/15/2017 10:31:23 AM

Pros: First is the price 450$ for the same what Asus Rog pg278q does but 250$ cheaper. I had Asus Rog and it was great accept picture was to yellow. Acer is perfect no dead pixel, 2k is smooth and crispy. I have old Acer HN274H 3d both TN panels but the Acer XB has way better colors and options including gaming.
3D works great , but you need to buy Nvidia 3d Vision Kit, this monitor does not have emitter build in.
ULMB mode.
G-sync is quite nice to have , I never had that future before.

Cons: No cons.

Overall Review: I'm 3d gamer and always wanted to have 2k 3d vision ready. I got lucky because this monitor was always not available, I got up one morning and here it was , so I ordered quickly , I have not seen it being for sale ever since. I love the shape and everything about it.

Had it for 6 months now. 6/19/2016 2:49:43 PM

Pros: Excellent picture quality, very crisp and clear with zero dead pixels.
G-sync is amazingly good, way better than I expected it to be.

Cons: A slight bit of light glow on the edges but it is only noticeable on a black screen and even then not too bad.
Price is on the high side.

Overall Review: I would buy it again. I love it.

Just received and everything looks excellent! 6/14/2016 11:24:01 AM

Pros: If Newegg did not add anything to the packaging (by the graphics on the box I do not think they did), then Acer did an excellent job of keeping the monitor safe for transport. I did not notice any scratches or imperfections after unpackaging.

As first power up, everything looks fine. No dead pixels or backlight bleed,

I still use a GTX 670 card until my next PC build, but G-Sync works great.

Edit: If I could, 5 eggs for Newegg RMA replacement process! Simple and painless experience.

Cons: Some people are very picky about IPS over TN panels. I think the viewing angles are good enough for me, but YMMV.

EDIT: Removed 2 eggs because unit was dead after 2 days of use. I requested an RMA for replacement and waiting for it to process.

Overall Review: This is my first 1440 monitor and it looks beautiful! Whether you buy this particular model monitor or not, I highly recommend getting 1440 resolution. I am debating buying a cheap 1440 for work purposes.

I do not have a preference for TN or IPS. I bought this model because it was cheaper than the IPS version.

This is TM Technology, I am extremely dissapointed. 6/14/2016 11:11:52 AM

Pros: - Speed 144hz

Cons: - This monitor has serious issues with quality control, brightness, back-bleed, and really sucks, ITS TM, ITS NOT THE IPS VERSION. Other than playing you can't do much in it. Everything looks yellowish, I am just waiting to get home to return this "monitor"

Not all I was hoping for 6/13/2016 6:32:10 AM

Pros: 27" is great, 1440p makes the desktop look beautiful and gaming at 120Hz is smooth

Cons: Where to begin?
Initially purchased on reviews of how greated the Acer XB270HU is. Apparently all those reviews were written for the IPS model when there was no TN panel. The Abprz = TN. Seeing it originally priced at $800 in IPS areas, makes me wonder why this is so much more when other.
ULMB says unavailable. From what I've read its not compatible with GSync mode, however I am currently on an AMD card so that isnt even a factor.
144Hz is not an option. I have yet to find a reason why.
3 dead pixels, dead backlight in lower left hand area. When screen has solid colors it draws your eye like a moth to a flame. i cant unsee it.
1st morning when using my PC monitor reported "No Signal" until I disconnected/reconnected the displayport cable.
Only a single input, displayport. I cannot hook up another PC to test or a console.
Acer support is lackluster. I've posted on their forums and thus far the only response I have received is a notice of a post being deleted for being too similar to another post I made as a reply to another user. Quick to clean up a forum, but no technical assistance yet.

Overall Review: Some aspects like single input is understandable and known when going in.
Some like no ULMB working or 144Hz unselectable, might just be a configuration issue and might be me missing something.
The deadpixels and dead backlight zone is inexcusable.
I have been putting PCs together and buying my own parts for over 20 years. This is by far the most I've spent on any one single component. I went out on a limb to treat myself instead of always buying the budget monitor.
At this price I expect it to be a premium product and get perfection. I'm not concerned with TN vs IPS, colors, etc. I'm a peasant in that regard and don't know any better. But still, this is too much for subpar.
I was debating to just exchange for another but in light of everything in this posting, I have opted to just purchase a standard return and begin looking at others option.

Loving it so far! 6/1/2016 8:22:57 PM

Pros: 1440p
1 ms response time
G-Sync
144Hz Refresh Rate

Before I upgraded to 1440p I had an Acer H236HL Bid which is a 1080p, 60 Hz IPS panel. There is a huge difference between the two. The increase in resolution isn't night and day, but it's there. Gaming is what this monitor is marketed towards (obviously) and what I'm going to be using it for the most. I tried out this monitor on the following games: Battlefield 4, CS:GO, DOOM, Heroes of the Storm. I could definitely feel a difference right away. I wouldn't go so far as to say that it was a night and day difference, but it was there. My movements felt more smooth and responsive. Also, the quality of the panel and stand are very good. I don't have any dead/stuck pixels nor have I noticed any backlight bleed. Further, a lot of the reviews on this panel, be it here on newegg, written reviews on websites or youtube video reviews that I have watched all say that this monitor's stand and bezel have a glossy finish. This is not true, the stand/monitor that i received has a matte finish. Which is a plus, because who wants their monitor to have fingerprints all over it?

Cons: Out of the box the brightness is extremely high, also the color balance isn't great. However, this is extremely easy to fix by downloading and installing an ICC profile, so it's not enough for me to knock an egg off.

Stay Away from Acer 4/25/2016 4:35:01 AM

Pros: - Great for a short time

Cons: - High failure rate
- Its Acer

Overall Review: I have bought 2 of their so called 144Hz High End Gaming 2K Monitors and have returned them both. The first due to the Display port signal constantly losing its connection. The 2nd had bad internal components that burned out after 4 days. Both had 2 or more dead pixels.

I bought a BenQ 144Hz, 1MS 2k Gaming LCD and have been going strong for 6 months now, NO ISSUES!

ACER simply makes too many products and does not spend enough time on quality control. They pollute the stores and online distributors with cheap junk laptops and LCD's that are ticking time bombs. Acer is now on my banned list, along side K-Mart, OCZ, SONY, and Piers Morgan. I hope Acer goes bankrupt and gets sold off real soon.

Get your money's worth. 4/3/2016 9:11:57 PM

Pros: - 1440p with G-sync support.
-144hz... Looks amazing compared to 60Hz
-27" screen size is a noticeable difference from 24" screen size.

Cons: I noticed a stuck pixel when I first got the monitor.. It is light grey, so its not that noticable. I can only really see it when I focus on it.
I'll only take off one star for it.

Overall Review: Yes, it's a magnificent monitor with a swivel so you can adjust your viewing angle.
