Question 1

ADATA LEGEND 710 or Samsung 980 1TB: which should I buy?

Accepted Answer

Choose the LEGEND 710 if it costs less and its speeds suit your workload; its rated sequential speeds are up to 2,400/1,800 MB/s. Choose the Samsung 980 if you want higher rated sequential performance—up to 3,500/3,000 MB/s—for compatible PCIe Gen 3 systems. Both are M.2 2280 PCIe Gen 3 NVMe drives with DRAM-less designs.

Question 2

Should I choose the ADATA LEGEND 710 or WD Blue SN570 1TB?

Accepted Answer

The LEGEND 710 may suit a lower-cost everyday or gaming build if its rated speeds meet your needs. The WD Blue SN570 has higher published 1TB specifications: up to 3,500/3,000 MB/s sequential read/write and 600 TBW, compared with the LEGEND 710’s up to 2,400/1,800 MB/s and 260 TBW. Compare their current prices and warranty terms before choosing.

Question 3

Is the LEGEND 710 a worthwhile upgrade from a SATA SSD?

Accepted Answer

It can be a worthwhile upgrade when your computer has a compatible M.2 NVMe slot and you want faster sequential transfers: the LEGEND 710 is rated up to 2,400/1,800 MB/s, and LaptopMedia’s testing found higher read speeds than a SATA SSD. For everyday browsing or gaming, the benefit depends on the task; check your system’s M.2 compatibility before buying.

Question 4

Does it come with a heatsink, and will it fit in my computer?

Accepted Answer

The product listing specifies an included heatsink. Before installation, check that your laptop or motherboard has enough clearance and that the heatsink will work with any built-in M.2 cover or thermal plate.

Question 5

Can I use it as my main drive for Windows, apps, and games?

Accepted Answer

Yes, if your computer supports an M.2 2280 NVMe PCIe SSD, the 1TB LEGEND 710 can serve as a boot, application, game, or general storage drive. Its listed sequential speeds are up to 2,400 MB/s read and 1,800 MB/s write; actual performance depends on the system and workload.

Question 6

Is it suitable for photo and video editing?

Accepted Answer

It is positioned for consumer use and entry-level creative work, including photo and video editing. The listed peak sequential speeds are up to 2,400 MB/s read and 1,800 MB/s write, with HMB and no DRAM; the listing does not specify sustained write speeds, so those peak figures should not be assumed for long, continuous transfers.

Question 7

Will this SSD work in my laptop or desktop?

Accepted Answer

It can work in either if the system has an M.2 2280 slot that supports NVMe over PCIe. Check your computer’s specifications and available space before buying; an M.2 slot that supports SATA only is not sufficient.

Question 8

Will the ADATA LEGEND 710 work in my motherboard?

Accepted Answer

It fits an M.2 2280 slot that supports NVMe over PCIe. Check your motherboard’s specifications for that support before buying; a compatible PCIe 3.0 x4 slot can use the drive’s listed interface. Reddit buyers specifically raised motherboard compatibility when considering this model.

Question 9

Is it a good choice as a main drive for important files?

Accepted Answer

Reddit reports about reliability are mixed: some users describe trouble, while others report normal operation. These anecdotes cannot establish a failure rate. The listed 1TB model is rated for 260TB written; if you use it for important files, maintain a separate backup and check the seller’s warranty terms.

Question 10

Is the ADATA LEGEND 710 suitable for gaming?

Accepted Answer

It can suit a budget gaming build or a secondary game drive: it is a PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSD rated for sequential reads up to 2,400 MB/s. Reddit experiences are mixed, so those reports do not establish how reliably every unit performs. Keep separate backups of important files.
