Question 1

Is the Legend 860 better suited as secondary storage than as a boot drive?

Accepted Answer

The Reddit discussion includes a 500GB owner using the drive for secondary office-file storage, while commenters raise concerns about using the model as a primary drive. Those are limited user reports, not proof of a general reliability problem; consider a drive with stronger documented endurance if it will hold frequently written, critical data.

Question 2

Is the ADATA Legend 860 worth buying for game storage?

Accepted Answer

It may suit a budget game-storage build if the price is competitive and 500GB is enough for your library. Reddit users discuss the Legend 860 as a game-storage option, but those discussions do not establish long-term reliability. The supplied specifications list sequential speeds up to 5,000/3,000 MB/s.

Question 3

Is 500GB enough for a Legend 860 game-storage drive?

Accepted Answer

It can work for a smaller game collection, but 500GB offers less room than the 2TB capacity discussed in one Reddit game-storage thread. Check your available M.2 slot and the space your games require before choosing this capacity.

Question 4

Is 500GB enough for games and everyday use?

Accepted Answer

500GB can suit an operating system, everyday applications, and a modest collection of games or files. Large games and media libraries can use that space quickly, so consider whether you are comfortable managing storage or adding another drive.

Question 5

How can I tell if this SSD is compatible with my computer?

Accepted Answer

Your computer needs an M.2 2280 slot that supports NVMe over PCIe. The drive is PCIe 4.0 x4; confirm your device supports that interface and has room for the included heatsink before purchasing.

Question 6

Does it come with a heatsink, or do I need to buy one separately?

Accepted Answer

The listed 500GB model includes a heatsink. For a PS5, check that the installed drive and heatsink fit within the console’s clearance requirements; for a PC, also check the motherboard’s M.2 slot clearance.

Question 7

Will this SSD work in a PS5?

Accepted Answer

ADATA lists the LEGEND 860 as PS5-compatible, and this 500GB version has a PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 interface and a heatsink. Its listed sequential read speed is up to 5,000MB/s, below the 5,500MB/s speed Sony recommends for PS5 expansion drives, so check your console’s requirements before buying rather than assuming compatibility is guaranteed.

Question 8

Should I get the 500GB or 1TB ADATA LEGEND 860?

Accepted Answer

Choose 500GB for a smaller game or application library and a lower-capacity upgrade; it is rated up to 5,000/3,000 MB/s read/write and 160TBW. Choose 1TB if you need more room or want the higher rated sequential speeds and endurance: ADATA lists up to 6,000/4,000 MB/s and 320TBW for that capacity.

Question 9

Is the ADATA LEGEND 860 500GB a reasonable PS5 storage upgrade?

Accepted Answer

It is a suitable option if 500GB of additional storage is enough for your needs: ADATA lists the LEGEND 860 as PS5-compatible, with read speeds up to 5,000 MB/s for PS5. Choose a larger capacity if you want room for more installed games; the 500GB model is rated for up to 160TBW.

Question 10

ADATA LEGEND 860 500GB vs LEGEND 800 500GB: which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose the LEGEND 860 if you want higher rated sequential speeds: its 500GB model is rated up to 5,000/3,000 MB/s read/write, compared with 3,500/2,200 MB/s for the 500GB LEGEND 800. Both are PCIe Gen4 x4 M.2 2280 SSDs; the 860 is the better fit when its higher rated throughput and explicit PS5 support matter to your decision.
