Yes, absolutely.  It is fully compatible with USB 2.0.  It will just work at the slower 2.0 speed when used on 2.0 ports.

How much usable space is in the 32GB version?

Almost 29GB usable space on FAT32 or NTFS. (28.8GB)
I however stopped buying these. They get slow after a while. on a USB 3 port, on a sandisk fit I get about 35MB/s write speeds and on these after a year I get about 12MB/s that's as slow as USB 2 speeds.
