will this work with usb2 ports?

Yes. Like other USB 3 devices, this flash drive is backwards compatible. It is just slower when connected to a USB 2 port than a USB 3 port.

Windows 7 isn't giving me the option to format this to FAT32, just exFAT and NTFS. Is this correct or am I just doing something wrong?

Hi Kyle,

None of my drive USB3 drives will format to Fat32 in Win7. Why even use Fat32. Use ExFat if you need to go back and forth between mac and windows. I can format it to Fat32 using OSX,  but not my win7. It's not the drive as all my external drives behave the same as this.

Can AIFF and FLAC files (music files copied from CDs) be played back via this device when plugged into a typical USB port in new cars?

Check with your car stereo manual.  This is just a memory device, not a player.  If your car stereo has the capacity of playing music files from a memory storage device, it will also tell you what formats it will accept from that device.  FLAC and AIFF are not common file formats for car stereos to accept.  Most want MP3 format files.  You also want to check if there is a memory size limitation for what can be plugged into the USB port.

It comes as exFAT, but I easily formatted to NFTS because one of my devices wouldn't read the exFAT.

Yes, it will work on Windows 10 32-bit & 64-bit.  That's assuming you don't get bad one.  Mine arrived defective, and the reviews show a high failure rate.  I use both Windows 7 64-bit & Windows 10 64-bit.

I noticed the 64G-RBE is $5 more than the 64G-RGY. When I do a compare I am not seeing anything different in these models. One looks like it has a blue slider switch and the other a yellow one. Can someone tell me what is different on these two models and why the $5 more?

I think the 2 models you are comparing are 64G-RBE and 64G-RBY. 64G-RGY is a different item. I only have 64G-RBE which has a blue slider, but I think the only difference between 64G-RBE and 64G-RBY is the color of slider. In fact, if you read the reviews for either of the model, they are reviewing the same drive with different capacities and different colors. It is not unusual for the same item with different colors selling at different price.

I cannot get WIN 8 to recognize this drive under the "Storage Spaces" feature. Do I have to re-format?

Perhaps, I'm not 100 percent sure.  So for starters if you don't have a copy of Partition Magic 9.x I'd get a copy of Partition Magic 9.x.  I believe there are paid and freeware versions.

Then format it NTFS, that way storage spaces may be able to work with it.  Then again, storage spaces may 'require' non-removable storage for it to work right.  When I received my Adata 64GB Flash Drive it was UDF.

With Partition Magic I selected 'delete partition', applied the action/change and then re-formatted it according to my needs.

Question 10

How to password protect this drive ?

There is downloadable software available after you register the drive on the Adata site that will password protect data stored on the drive in certain folders.  I didn't see anything to password protect the entire drive.
