Yes, you will be able to edit pdf files by first converting them to word documents - only if the pdf is not protected. Be sure you can provide proof of you student/teacher status. Basically you have to have an email address from an educational institution, such as an email address ending with .edu; and if more information is needed you might have to submit forms indicating your current enrollment status. FYI when I registered my software a few weeks ago which was around 12/05/2013 I had no problems what so ever even when I was to graduate in fall 2013. I hope this answers all your questions.

To the best of my knowledge it's a single-license install.  You would have to check directly with Adobe about their license agreements.  I've only installed it one my one computer, so I can't say if you can install on multiple.

Technically you can install on one computer and one backup.  Adobe is particular about there license.  Best to just buy 2 licenses as the program is customizable to the user and well worth the price

Once you download that you login to Creative Cloud and you will be able to download them again.
