What is the licensing for this product? 1 computer only or allowed to install on 2?

Per online chat with Adobe, as per the EULA - 2 machines for the full retail version. You may want to chat with them yourself and document it.

Can this product be installed as a network license?  I have multiple computers (Laptop, desktop) that I would like to install this on, but only want to buy a single license.

As far as I know, most software companies allow installation of a software title on a desktop and on a laptop under a single license.  The premise is that only one computer is likely to be used at a time.  Beyond that, a "multiple station" license is needed.  Read the license information that came with your software - and then check with Adobe.  Most of Adobe's software requires online registration for each installation, so multiple installs on different equipment is quickly detected.

Question 4

For the Adobe Acrobt SI Standard software, how many licenses come with each software package?  How many computers can we load the same package onto?

My boss got a cheaper product called PaperPort and it is really inferior to the Adobe Professional I'd worked with in the past.  It's functional and half the cost, but probably half the functionality.  So I'm not even going to load it onto a second computer because it would cause more headache than it would solve.

With standard, am I able to change my identity name in preferences so that my annotation comments say my first name rather than the login someone else chose?

I notice with Pro X you can change your identity for comments. It's so great. But maybe not a Standard capability????

can i download immediately and use it ?

You can download a full working "Trail" copy of Adobe Acrobat XI from the Adobe web site. Everything work on the  "Trial" copy. I've downloaded several software programs and tried them out and they worked fine.

Will this package install on 2 computers and run at the same time?

Although there are two disks included in the package (one 32 bit and one 64 bit), there is only one license, allowing you to install the OS on a single computer.  If the computer that it is originally installed on is lost or becomes non-functional, you can then install the OS on another computer, but installing it on more than one computer simultaneously breaks the licensing agreement.

What is the difference between the adobe XI standard full version and the adobe XI standard version?

The "Full" version would be if you did not have a previous version of a program to upgrade.

can this software convert file from pdf to excel format?

I have not done this, but there is a menu listing for exporting a pdf file to a MS Excel workbook.  Look under Tools > Content editing > Export file to > Microsoft Excel Workbook.
