I currently have an edu subscription for $29/mo. Can I purchase this and use it without downloading everything again? What happens at the end of the subscription period?

Adobe handles merging subscriptions very badly. Most of the time you end up with two subscriptions running concurrently. They will cancel and refund one, if you call them, but they won't rearrange them.

The only way to make it work with your current subscription is to try to use the code you buy from NewEgg to extend your current subscription. If that works, you're all set. If it rejects the code, you won't have two subscriptions going in parallel, but you probably cannot return the code to NewEgg for refund.

If you just wait for your current subscription to expire and them activate another one, you will not have to redownload anything. You'll just need to log into Adobe Creative Cloud using new credentials.

Does this software work like the CS6 versions?  And is Bridge included in the package?

As long as you have an active subscription, you have access to all creative cloud products. You simply download and install the applications you want as you need them, and sign into your account, which does tend to happen a little more often than it should, but not so often that it is bothersome.

If for some reason a product is no longer developed, you'll have access to the most recent version in most cases.

I have a free subscription for 2 more months, can I activate this after the trial is completed?

You can activate it any time. It'll create a "different" subscription on the same account, so your CC tools will still work fine, you will likely have two subscriptions listed on your account, one inactive (the one that expired). There does not seem to be a way to combine them, so do not activate the 12-month code while your other subscription is still active. I've done that, they don't "add up", you end up with two subscriptions running concurrently.

If my school district doesn't use Adobe Creative Cloud my I still use my email to verify that I am a teacher for this 12 month subscribtion?

Yes, faculty and staff employed by accredited primary or secondary schools, public or private universities or colleges, school districts, or boards of education are eligible for the Adobe Creative Cloud Student & Teacher Edition. You can use your email to verify that you are a teacher.

How do I verify I'm a student?

Adobe should have the procedure posted on its website. However, in my experience during registration of the software you either need to provide evidence that you're enrolled at a school on their list or you need a student email that ends with .edu. Most (but not all) schools qualify - again, I would check their site for complete details.

Question 8

I'd like to get the educational subscription, since my kids are students and use my current commercial sub. I also use CS for a non-accredited educational project. Will this new subscription merge with my old one,  or must I wait until the old one expires?

If you currently have an educational subscription, check if on your account page you have an option of extending the term of the subscription. If you do, you get the choice; pay money or enter certificate code. If you get to this point and the CC website offers to accept a code from you, you can buy this product and enter the code you get, it will extend your subscription term by a year. If your current subscription is not educational, or is on month-to-month basis and you can't renew it for a fixed term, then you can't stack this code with it, and if you try you end up with two subscriptions running concurrently.

My son goes to a public high school and needs this program for his studies. What do we have to do to get approval for student discount?

Contact Adobe. They'll ask for some kind of verification from the teacher and school on a school letterhead.
