how many colors does this have available my theme is black with red led lights so hopefully it has a red setting?

Yes Red is an option! Looks great as well! I've had this unit for 2+ years and all functions are still operational. Several colors: blue, red, green, yellow...great accents to any color scheme.

Does this fan controller support 140 to 230 mm fans with leds?

Leds are not an issue nor are 140mm fans. I use 140s with leds in my build and it runs them fine. In my research I found when you top 200mm with this fan controler your rpm indicator may not be accurate but I have not found anyone with an issue in powering them.

How many drive bays does this take up and what size?

The unit requires 2 5 1\4 inch external bays. I love mine and have had no problems with it.

How does the usb 3.0 connect to the motherboard. sata?

It connects to your USB 3.0 header, if available. Check your m/b specs to see if it has one. If not, you could get a PCI USB 3.0 card that has a header, which is how I use it.
