The Front + Back (omni) pattern picks up sound evenly from all sides, making it ideal for capturing interviews with multiple speakers, tracking multiple singers and instruments, or recording ambient sounds on location.

Recording with Ara is plug-and-play simple. Connect directly to Mac and Windows computers using a standard USB-C connector. For Android devices, use an OTG USB adapter; for iOS devices, use an optional Apple Camera Adapter and a powered USB hub. Controls for common functions are right on the front of the mic, including pattern selection, a mic mute button with LED indicator and a 3.5mm headphone jack for latency-free monitoring.
