can i play the latest games like gta 4 and the going to be released gta5 ?

You'll be able to play GTA4 on a high setting (Some game on Ultra) GTA5 should work on high with this pc.

My only complain about this pc is that it crashes A LOT. I've been told it's cause of the Windows 8 , so if you can get this same pc  but with Windows 7 your set.

But this is really a great pc besides that point.

Can you modify this machine with a better video card?

I bought it specifically to play Diablo 3. When it arrived, I didn't even open it up, I just plugged in and started playing. 
The power supply is an external brick so I'm not certain if there would be any expansion based on power requirements alone.

How wide is the tower? I ask because the pictures make it seem like it is about the size of a PlayStation 3.

The tower is designed to be about the size of a game console. I do not know the exact measurements but I can tell you it's about the size of a PlayStation but just a little but bigger. I highly recommend this system very good performance and although it is a tiny bit bigger than a game console it still is smaller than your traditional desktop PC.
