Alphacool 13/10mm Borosilicate Glass HardTube - 60cm, Clear (18494)

This Alphacool HardTube is a clear borosilicate glass hard tube for water cooling with a 13 mm outer and 10 mm inner diameter, 60 cm long, one tube per pack. Attention: this article is not compatible with Monsoon fittings.

Glass instead of hoses

The previous method, and the one that has been most commonly used for water cooling systems to date, is normal PVC hoses. With the HardTube family Alphacool now introduces a new approach, which additionally brings more tidiness and order into the system and enables a further structured impression. Alphacool says borosilicate glass ticks every box on the checking list for watercooling systems. Stability and a brilliant appearance are not the only qualities that should lead to choosing it, as even most chemicals and temperature fluctuations can not harm this glass. Alphacool adds that the whole chemical industry is depending on this type of glass, and that we can certainly say this is not without reason.

Sizes and angles

Alphacool currently offers two classical sizes: one tube with a 16 mm outer diameter and another with 13 mm. It is not possible to personally deform this glass or change its shape, so versions in a different length with 90° angles are introduced as well. With those a run can do without connecting angle pieces. The following options are available:

• 13/10mm with a 90° angle: 10/30cm and 20/40cm
• 13/10mm straight: 40cm and 60cm (this tube)
• 16/11mm with a 90° angle: 10/30cm and 20/40cm
• 16/11mm straight: 40cm and 60cm

Cutting it to length

WARNING: do not under any circumstances use the usual glass tube cutter to shorten the tube. Borosilicate is a solid, very hard glass which can not be cut properly with a normal cutter of that kind. Please refer to a Dremel® with the needed cutting disc. Alphacool recommends a diamond cutting disc for it.

What a run needs

All of these glass tubes are compatible with the Alphacool HardTube connectors, and a run takes two 13mm hard tube fittings, one at each end. Note: due to the made-to-fit pipes, the connections must be plugged on straight with a little effort.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
