Alphacool 16/11mm 90° Borosilicate Glass HardTube - 10/30cm, Clear (18499)

The Alphacool 16/11mm 90° Borosilicate Glass HardTube - 10/30cm is a borosilicate glass hard tube for water cooling with a 16 mm outer diameter, a 90° angle already in it and the size 10/30cm. One tube comes per pack, and it is compatible with the Alphacool HardTube connectors. Attention: Monsoon fittings are not compatible with this article.

Glass in place of hose

Normal PVC hoses are the previous method, the one that has been most commonly used for water cooling systems, and Alphacool now introduces the glass tube as a new approach. A hard tube additionally brings more tidiness into the system, which enables a further structured impression. On its own page Alphacool says the tubes made of this glass give every system a whole new quality.

According to Alphacool, borosilicate glass ticks every box on the checking list for watercooling systems. Stability and a brilliant appearance are named first, and they are not the only qualities that should lead to choosing it. Even most chemicals and temperature fluctuations can not harm this glass. The whole chemical industry is depending on it, and in Alphacool's words "we can certainly say that this is not without reason".

Sizes and angles

Alphacool currently offers two classical sizes: one tube with a 16 mm outer diameter and another with 13 mm. As it is not possible to personally deform these tubes, a different length with 90° angles is introduced for each size. Alphacool says the angled tubes let you do without connecting angle pieces. The following options are available:

• 13/10mm HardTube with a 90° angle: 10/30cm and 20/40cm
• 13/10mm HardTube without an angle: 40cm and 60cm
• 16/11mm HardTube with a 90° angle: 10/30cm and 20/40cm
• 16/11mm HardTube without an angle: 40cm and 60cm

Cutting to length

WARNING: do not under any circumstances use the usual glass tube cutter to shorten the tube. Borosilicate is a solid, very hard glass, and a normal cutter can not cut it properly. Please refer to a Dremel® with the needed cutting disc. Alphacool recommends a diamond cutting disc for it.

What a run needs

A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end, and all glass tubes of this range take the HardTube fittings. Note from Alphacool: due to the made-to-fit pipes, the connections must be plugged on straight with a little effort.

Notes

• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
