Alphacool HardTube Bending Kit Basic (29144)

The Alphacool HardTube Bending Kit Basic is a tool set for cutting, deburring and bending acryl/PETG HardTubes: a pipe reamer, a miter box, a pit saw, a double bending tool and two silicone inserts. Alphacool calls it a versatile set for all those who want to equip their PC with Hardtubes. The Hardtube Basic Kit contains what Alphacool counts as the most important tools needed for the job.

Acrylic Tubing Pipe Reamer, article 29115

One side of the deburring tool has three sharp edges with steel blades to deburr a cut HardTube from the inside and remove rough sections. On the other side are the steel blades for the cut outside edge. Alphacool's promise for the result is making a perfect seal with your connectors.

Eiskoffer HardTube saw tool, article 29134

Alphacool says cutting HardTubes is a cinch with this miter box. It has special rubberized channels for 13 mm and 16 mm tubes, which prevent them from sliding around and getting scratched. The box can be anchored with two small screw clamps.

Acrylic Double Bending Tool 12/14/16mm, article 29124

Alphacool now has a bending tool for different sizes, and says it makes laying and bending HardTubes super easy. Tubes with a thickness of 12-14 mm as well as 16 mm are all no problem, and curves of up to 180° bend neatly and easily. The red rubber measurement guide lets you set the size of the straight section of tubing in centimeters.

Pit saw for Acryl/PETG tubes, article 29125

The pit saw is no ordinary saw from the hardware store. Its special blade with fine teeth is what Alphacool calls perfectly suited for cutting these tubes, and the company says it eliminates the usual problems. Even when first placed against the tube, the teeth go through the acryl so smoothly that there is no slipping around. Any breaking or ripping of the tube at the last few cuts is also eliminated, thanks to the same fine teeth.

It's a familiar problem: you want to make a straight cut, but because of a thin blade every cut you make gets a little more crooked. Alphacool's answer is that this is not an issue here: the blade is just thick enough not to tilt, but still thin enough to get a precise cut. Alphacool's claim is that every cut is neat and straight, down to the last pull.

Silicon Bending Insert 100cm with 10mm & 13mm diameter, article 29117 & 29126

For bends in the Alphacool HardTubes, Alphacool describes the two inserts as the perfect solution: one for 10 mm and one for 13 mm. Simply insert the silicone inside the tube, then heat the desired location. Thanks to the extremely heat-resistant silicone, the pipe can be bent without the curved point kinking. After cooling, the insert can be easily removed.

What a build needs

The kit holds the tools only: the HardTubes are bought separately. Alphacool's other Basic kit, with the Eistools Modding Cutter for PETG in place of the saw and miter box, is article 29143.
