The Alphacool Core AM5 Performance Kit is a mounting kit for the AM5 socket that fits Alphacool's Core 1 and Core 1 LT CPU water blocks. It optimizes the position of the CPU cooling block on the socket and is only for AM5.

What it does

Since the chiplets in AM5 processors are not centrally installed, the hottest areas of the CPU are not in the middle either. The kit moves the block so that the CPU cooler's cooling fins are positioned over those areas, which Alphacool describes as targeted cooling of the chiplets. Alphacool says the fins then sit perfectly and that this ensures more efficient cooling. It calls the kit a must-have for anyone who wants to get maximum performance on their AM5 system.

What the block needs

The kit replaces the mounting bars of a Core 1 or Core 1 LT, such as the Core 1 in black or the Core 1 LT in black. Remove the original mounting bars and install the kit with the original screws. Then clean the CPU and apply thermal grease. Thermal grease and a putty tool are not included. Install the cooler and secure it with the four thumbscrews. For optimum cooling performance, the cooler must be mounted as shown in the illustration in the manual.
