Alphacool Plexi (Acrylic) HardTube 10mm ID, 13mm OD, 80cm, Clear

The Alphacool HardTube 13/10mm Plexi Clear 80cm is a hard tube for water cooling with a 13 mm outer and 10 mm inner diameter, clear and 80 cm long. It is made of plexi (acrylic, PMMA) and comes one tube per pack. Alphacool states that it is not compatible with Monsoon fittings.

The HardTube idea

With this range the HardTube project becomes a reality, and Alphacool says it takes a completely new way and clearly sets an example. The method most commonly used previously for water cooling systems is normal PVC hoses. With a rigid tube Alphacool offers another approach to water cooling. It says the HardTube again brings more tidiness and order into the system, which makes a much more structured impression.

Bending and cutting

With the appropriate bending tool you can adapt the plexi tube to the system without needing to use additional angles. To install it, the tube has to be sawn to the right length.

What a run needs

A tube run takes two fittings, one at each end, from our 13mm OD hard tube fittings. The brand new plexi tubes and the Alphacool HT connectors make installation very simple: they connect together completely sealed. Because the tubes are made to fit, Alphacool notes that the connectors have to be pushed on straight with a little force.

Other versions

Alphacool lists these variants of the range: 13/10mm acrylic clear in 20cm, 40cm, 60cm and 80cm, and 16/12mm acrylic clear in the same four lengths. The brass tubes are 13/10mm in chrome and Deep Black (black chrome), 20cm and 40cm.

Notes

• Alphacool recommends distilled water for proper operation of the water cooling system.
• Use only clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses, which can void the manufacturer's warranty.
