The Alphacool NexXxoS XT45 Full Copper 480mm Radiator is a 480 mm radiator for four 120 mm fans, 46 mm thick, with seven G1/4 connections. In the same fan size the next thickness down is the ST30 Full Copper 480mm radiator and the next one up is the UT60 Full Copper 480mm radiator.

Full copper

Following this tradition of new developments, Alphacool says, the new NexXxos radiators are the first to truly deserve the "Full copper" attribute. All main parts are made from copper: not only the fins and channels, but also the chambers. According to Alphacool this brings an improvement in performance where other radiators are left without a chance. It adds that the material already gives an advantage over the competition, while the inner structure is up to par with it. Separated chambers give the coolant a clear direction, allowing high flow rates which, by Alphacool's account, improve the performance of the whole cooling loop. The chambers on the heat exchanger are flat, and thanks to the reduced overall length they increase mounting flexibility.

Ports and mounting

Alphacool names versatile and easy mounting as one of the main points on which its research and development department focused. On both inlet and outlet the chamber offers three possibilities for fitting installation, which is not so on the NexXxoS ST30. That way less angled fittings are needed, improving flow rates and offering more mounting possibilities. Hence the radiator can even be installed in tight enclosures, where internal installation is otherwise not a possibility. On all UT60 and NexXxos Monsta radiators a G1/4 screw plug allows easy de-aeration of the radiator and hassle-free vertical installation of the heat exchanger. That threaded opening can even be used for filling, e.g. in combination with a Fillport.

What the loop needs

The radiator has 7x G1/4 connections. A loop uses two of them, so the radiator takes two fittings, and the screw plugs in the box close the others. Four 120 mm fans fit the radiator, and the box has sixteen M3x30mm and sixteen M3x35mm hexagon socket screws for the M3 fan thread.

Notes

• Fill the loop only with clear, transparent water cooling fluids. Alphacool warns that the particles and additives in pastel liquids can clog and permanently damage water cooling products such as radiators, pumps, coolers and hoses. It adds that this can result in voiding the manufacturer's warranty as well.
